Hi, the Vevor is the 300w model ok or do you recommend the 500? For a small cabin like yours but my laboratory is 11m2
@AugmentGuitars6 күн бұрын
Hello! Honestly, the 10" 350 watt model should suffice. In hindsight, I should have went for that model to get a little more space in my booth. The 550 watt 12" has a lot of power, but right now it is limited by my duct size. I say go with the 10" 350 model and you'll be good to go! Hope that helps. tinyurl.com/5funvnm6

How do you keep the jack from rotating with the nut while tightening?

With this guitar, I was able to fit my pinky into the f hole and prevent it from moving while I tightened it. They also make tools that do this same thing (from StewMac and other sellers). You might have to get creative if you can’t reach the jack to hold it lol!

fantastic build I fell on these videos by chance whilst researching booths but love the content . can you clarify where you vent the extracted air to ? do it simply cycle through the two filters and back into the basement area , or do you duct it to a ventilation route out the building . many thanks !!
@AugmentGuitars13 күн бұрын
Thank you! I have the exhaust set up to go through a 6" or 8" flexible duct pipe that then goes to a flange with a damper outside my house. When using the booth, I open one of the windows in the basement (far from the booth) to allow clean air while the fumes exhaust. Hope that helps! :)

It looks very similar to my rosewood Telecaster! I just fitted the helical thread inserts to one of my Telecasters, I have 2 necks for it with differing fretboard radii one 7.25" and vintage tuners and the other original neck 9.5" I had to adjust the saddles to the 7.25" and I guess I shall have to set up another bridge and pickup for the 9.5" radius so I can swap the necks when I want to. the reason for the new neck was because I find it easier to play bar chords on a 7.25 radius board and also the vintage look

It’s wasn’t too bad! I made a template for the battery box, routed it out, and then drilled a hole to connect the route to the control cavity. You could always just install one of the rechargeable batteries Fishman sells. Probably a lot easier 😅.

Great job on the build! Just curious-are the lighting fixtures explosion-proof? Since you went with an explosion-proof fan, I was wondering if it might be worth considering some way to seal off the lights and cables from the fumes. Also, have you noticed any issues with dust in your finish since it's not fully blocked off from the rest of your workshop? Overall, it looks like a great setup!

Good question! I have a Peterson Strobostomp tuner pedal and it has a few preset settings. For most of the strings, I use the guitar setting. On the lower two, I use the bass setting. Seems to read a bit better with those low notes. I believe they are both 440 hz though.

I looked at an Ibanez RG8 today in store as an entry into 8 strings and decided to pass on it. The frets were sharp on the ends, tool marks on the edge of the fret board, the neck pocket had a big gap in it against the neck and overall the finish was below average, with paint rubbed off around the neck screws and chipped along the neck pocket fresh out of the box. I watched the guitar center guy go get it from the back and cut the tape on its cardboard box right in front of me so I was the first person to touch it from factory. It might cost $450 USD brand new but you could expect to spend at least $450 setting it up and getting it presentable and playable
@AugmentGuitars4 ай бұрын
Yeah the QC seems to be a bit all over the place… I bought this one as a b-stock for under $300 and it needed some work. The frets weren’t too bad but needed some love. The nut was cut completely wrong and needed replaced 😂. If you know how to do the work though, you can score a decent deal!

@@Se7enthWard Good stuff to learn! If you own any older/cheap instruments, try doing some work on them. That's how I first started. You got this lol! Those Jacksons are pretty nice! Word of caution, if you are looking at the multi-scale version of that 8, it uses a different pickup size so you can't really get replacements without custom making them. I worked on one a few months back and found that out. lol

Very nice video, sir. New sub here. Love the content. Just to note, when/if welding: The conduit is (usually)galvanized which means that if inhaled can be toxic. Also, the gas pipe fittings can be of a dissimilar metal so "just welding" may be nearly impossible for most, depending on the carbon content.

Can you put these in a slanted rgms8? scouring the internet for resources and it seems like the agile and legator guitars with them just have the regular fishmans, not special slanted versions.
@AugmentGuitars7 ай бұрын
Hey Sammy! So looking at the RGMS8, it looks like the coils and the pickup cavity route itself is for slanted coils, so I don’t think they would work without modifications. 😞 you’d have to route them out for soapbars, and even then, they might not line up completely. I know Bare Knuckle or Elysian pickups can make custom slanted sets that might work for you. Check them out!
