yes! Got mine Clean but I ad compression through the insert and sounds great

I'm always looking to try new mics - and now I'm working on a Bob Marley's early stuff (with Lee Perry's Upsetters & The Wailers) 'Style Project' with lots of live percussion - it seems from what I can find out Perry used an original AKG D12 dynamic for lead vocals - but when you get to Burnin' and Natty Dread they used a U67 for lead and U87 for BV's - until such time as I can spring for a WA67 (I do have the WA47, full fat!) I'm planning to use a Senny MD441 for my scratch vocals - and who knows that might be all I need in this room ;-) Great video as always Warren

I'm a mix engineer of 8 years and have mixed around a thousand songs, I can say with ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE around 6:21 the audio that was being played with the neve has processing and reverb, the dead giveaway was the reverb. And the audio being played with the warm audio had no processing or reverb which to the untrained ear, will say the Neve sounded better. This is as if to say the warm audio is worse. God knows what this guy did to the audio files to make it sound processed and better than the warm audio. Absolute garbage of a comparison. Cheating you might say.

When You increase the output of the warm and decrease in the same time the input gain, it will sounds more similar to the Neve I guess.

Variable Impedence is the hidden secret of all things amazing.

The actual Neve has a bit more clarity to my ears whereas the Warm is a hair muddier in the midrange. But definitely a similar character. I applaud you for using sound clips that display a wide frequency range of bass/treble so that we can really tell the difference! Actually liked the midrange push of the warm a bit more for the "electric guitar" keyboard emulation haha.

Hello, I am into streaming live DJ sets online and I am looking for a processor that will give that Radio sound and keep my audio at one level instead of one song being too loud or too low. What would you recommend?

If you know how to use expansion. Then an expander like the DBX 163x might work. Hope that helps thanks for watching.

Thanks Warren! I'm using mine on FOH main outs before the crossover. Looking for a bit of comp before hard limit to prevent catastrophy. It looks like I better just go for the hard limit.

If you're looking for a single channel DMP costing $1200 or a multichannel ISA, then the Series 500 isn't a factor. But if you're looking to conveniently accessorize your environment with $200-$400 cards over time, the Series 500 is perfect. Best to know your expected usage over 3-5 years. I overspec'd with the outstanding Cranborne R8. Seemed to be the perfect Swiss Army knife at the time, but I'm no longer using its extraordinary feature set. I'll likely swap it out with basic 500 Series chassis preferably cabled as DB25. Hope the new studio is working out!

The warm audio bus compressor is way too aggressive and grabby. It's absolutely useless on a full mix..

Although I use Mogami TRS and TS audio cables exclusively in my home studio setup, I have found that HOSA Midi cables are just as good as the pricier midi cables from ProCo, Roland, etc. No need to spend big money on simple midi cables.

Talking to Warm Audio it was admitted that they had been revising all the time while selling That's concerning !

Yeah it is. Many manufacturers including Apple do so. The difference is the back end support you receive from companies like Apple. I don’t necessarily think that’s bad. It’s only a problem when you encounter a shortcoming and have a problem getting it resolved. Thanks for your comment and for watching 🙏🏽✌🏽

Thanks for watching. Both units are handmade in Spain with the only difference with one being a 500 series format and the other not. Thanks again and please subscribe.

@WarrenHenry hey warren thanks for the reply well that is great if both are handmade then why such a big price difference. We are getting eq, power supply everything inside the ha73. Where as in 500 series unit we get only the preamp with chassis and eq seperate. I mean if you buy both 500 series modules and a chassis it would reach above 2000 usd. I am just confused about that. I am just about to buy it please answer my question thanks alot.

Is it normal I have to put my line in on the mono wa 73 eq pre at 40 db to match the volume from the track I am bouncing from my daw? At 0db, I am getting barely any volume unless I crank up the pre volume.

If that trim knob isn’t maxed out, you’re not using the output transformer to its potential. Dime the trim / output knob and reduce the gain knob for optimal headroom and tone.
