So this was an actual error on my part. I have 3 different variant's, whilst the intro made reference to the variant with the assault phaser, I actually used the variant with the Heavy Torpedo Tubes. The assault phaser looks like a large blue beam, and is fired from an emitter beneath the saucer section on the secondary hull. The next time I do a Yamato battle, I'll be sure to use the variant with the assault Phasers👍

@@mrsuri33 I find with the defiants torpedos that the closer the range the bigger damage. And you don't lose accuracy. So it's like overwhelming force to a specific shield vector. Had I let them off at distance I'd drain the shield but more than likely cause no hull damage in the initial volley.

I like this idea, wouldn't mind seeing this type of mod in the game, and it definitely fits on with both the lore of the ship and S31 activities during that time 👌👌

That my friend is a certainty. There were many failed attempts😅 In fact the only way I could even beat the AI was rotating through my torpedo arcs from range at the start of the battle where its phaser arrays and lances were slightly less effective. Then cloak and play cat and mouse.

I have the Yamato, I've uploaded a Yamato v Ulysses on the channel. Missouri not yet, I've found one model but it seems unfinished, as when you fire torpedos the game renders them as squares 😅. So I'm on the hunt for one.

It happens sometimes, I think if the game obtains a sensor lock even a mili second before the cloak is activated it can fire torpedos in that direction.

So you can get the base game from Gog.com, You can down the expansion packs and ships amongst other mods from Gamefront.com I'm using the Remastered Expansion Pack, as well as the Onion Update installed on top.

It definitely a lost era ship for me, inbetween TMP and TNG. But I like any ship with the plasma torps.

Yeah the King Condor that comes with the Remastered Orion expansion pack actually surprised me with how powerful it was. My original idea was to use the Shangri-La, but the Condor swatted it like a fly.

Definitely, the Condor was more powerful than I anticipated. But I like a good underdog fight.

@@khartog01 this is a fan made mod, based on the lore that Star fleet brought mothballed Constitution classes out of retirement and refitted them with 24th century defensive systems during the Dominion war. The mod designer is active in the comments of the full length video.

@@khartog01 shes really fun to play with, and I think the designer has put a lot of thought into the limitations of an old frame with updated defences.

@@travisaugustine7264 in fairness to the Defiant fans, I was using the stock defiant from Remastered Orion vs The Lakota from the Aftermath Mod pack. There is a Defiant from that pack which is more balanced to the Lakota, but I didn't like how the phasers were being rendered on screen. So I decided to play the underdog and rely on the cloak much more than usual. As the aftermath quantum torpedos are much more powerful than the standard quantums.

Why is it so bad?

@@TrekBattles the condor fight you just did ai landed hardly any plasma torpedos if it did it would of won it just seems like the ai is controlled by a toddler pressing buttons

@@sosministriesrev1412 yes you're right, the torpedos had the power to collapse a shield and inflict heavy damage with just one hit. The hull on the ship seemed to be reinforced with armour too.

I think you need to watch it again, the phasers on the Lakota did moderate damage. The biggest damage came from a quantum torpedo hit towards the end of the battle. And of course I'm going to cloak when in range of quantums, they track perfectly and it would take 4 hits to destroy the ship. 😂 What would you have done?

@@TrekBattles Honestly I'd do the same thing, lol. Just pointing out that when the AI pilots the defiant like any other ship they aren't even close. AI uses no strategy. This also highlights your skill in knowing blind spots and weaknesses. Great video!

Yeah agreed, I was impressed by the phaser array tho, it essentially has galaxy class phasers. It's a really odd ship to control. The best way of describing it, is that it's back heavy.

The pack is huge. Yeah the Galaxy X is out of the pack. Some more match ups to come.

As I remember when recording it, the Assimilation cube's biggest threat is actually it's cutting beams, it has more than double than a standard cube with rapid recharge rate. So it's constantly taxing the shields and hull integrity. You're right evasive manoeuvres pattern theta will avoid the torpedo's, but the cutting beams not so much.
