You can use it on mac with Parallels, VmWare Fusion or any other virtualization system, and of course with Bootcamp, although there is no specific version to run it natively.

@crossbytes3d3 ай бұрын
Hello Thierry, sorry for the late reply, we're back from summer holidays :) Yes, you can use the integrated mirror option, the point, in this case is to have it as an independent entry in the command history, but it makes no difference on the generated geometry.

Hey this is a stand alone software correct? so this is all I would have to download to start designing?
@crossbytes3d3 ай бұрын
Hi, CrossGems has a standalone interface but it's built on top of Rhino, so you also need Rhinoceros 7 or 8 to run it. You can download it directly from www.crossbytes3d.com/download the installer itself will download/update to the Rhino minimum required version , but make sure you have a McNeel account to use it, anyway if you have any questions feel free to ask us.

Beautiful! 💥thank you for this tutorial 🙏 I Need to ask about Fillet. Can I fillet the cutting lines? And regarding changing the pattern after the design is finished, I tried to do so but new pattern is not placed in the center of the ring, but on the side. What could cause this?
@crossbytes3d4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your words, we're glad you find it useful! 😍 Regarding the fillets of course you can but I don't recommend it as you'll spend a lot of time adding them and the edges will be so small that it won't have any effect when printing the model, in addition you will lose the parametric. So if you want the fillets to make the rendered image look smooth I recommend you to use the "Smooth Geometry" option located in the "Materials and Render" tab, this way you will get the same effect with a single click and without to have to modify the geometry or losing the parametric and much faster. As for the pattern, if it's not centered in the position you want, simply modify the "Offset X" and "Offset Y" options from the "Auto Hatch" command until you find the position you like. Anyway if you have any questions just send us an email to [email protected] with the images and we'll help you out💪

I possible to make a half eternity ring? Thank you for answer
@crossbytes3d4 ай бұрын
Hello @jirimacek5194 Simply modify the "Gems on Curve" command's "Start Point" to 0.75 and "End Point" to 0.5 so that the first gem is placed in the third quarter of the circle and fills half of the ring rail. As it is parametric you can do this at any time, at the beginning of the design or once the model is finished. Anyway if you have any questions feel free to ask us and we will be happy to help you.

I did not understand the reason for duplicating the ring. Is it impossible to work only with the original ring?
@crossbytes3d7 ай бұрын
The reason to make the duplicate is to make a Boolean intersection using it to obtain the inner part of the raster lion extrusion. Getting 1- The ring / 2 - The smooth lion created with that intersection of the duplicated ring. If you see 03:42 The original ring is hollowed out with an extrusion so it is not possible to create an intersection using it with the extrusion. So using the parametric features like restore object or duplicate gives us the possibility to get more complex designs and structures and still keep a parametric and modifiable ring.
@oshritdah7 ай бұрын
@@crossbytes3d Got it, thanks! Does it mean that I will need anothe duplication in case I want to hollow or texture the ring on the inner part?
@crossbytes3d7 ай бұрын
@@oshritdah No, it's not mandatory, you can extract the original object at any time even if it's deleted, but it's useful duplicate it to have it in the document so if you want to do multiple boolean operations it will save time.

Thank you so much for another great tutorial! ❤Regarding images, will a PNG file be sharp enough or is it generally better to vectorize all images that I want to use for my projects?
@crossbytes3d7 ай бұрын
It is not so much the file but the type of image and the definition of the image. I recommend very clear images without gradients, for example "black and white" so that the definition of the image is captured. (svg files are not allowed)
