Thankyou for taking the time to do this video. I am struggling to keep up with the parametric steps but I will rewatch a few times. This looks really powerful. Thankyou again

Thank you, I hope it help you better understand how it works and how link the tools between them. Anyway if you find some troubles let us know. Merry christmas!

Please keep making tutorials that showcase the different tools you can use to make creative projects for beginners like me. This is a great project and showed me what I wanted to learn. I will give my feed back after I follow this tutorial as I attempt to build my own ring and I will share the results. Thanks for doing this, I look forward to seeing more content from you.

Thanks Kris, Remember that you can make the hollow ring. If you have any questions just let us know! Merry Christmas!

So far I followed you and it has been a good experience. I tryed to do a signet ring with a different profile 002 and the isocurve does not work the same when choosing the UV option. It will not follow the profile like it does with the example in your video when choosing the option of the UV. Could you please explain to me why this is happening and how to remedy this situation? I would like to follow the rings profile on top and create an offset.

@@krisgreen811 You can select the top part with the arrow on the first panel of the Isocurve command. In case that the top profile has different surfaces (for example the shield profile) you have to select only 1 surface of the top to create the isocurve you mean. Note: If you change the profile while the isocurve is on the top, it can change if the new profile has different surfaces. 👍

Thank you so much for another great tutorial! ❤Regarding images, will a PNG file be sharp enough or is it generally better to vectorize all images that I want to use for my projects?
@crossbytes3d7 ай бұрын
It is not so much the file but the type of image and the definition of the image. I recommend very clear images without gradients, for example "black and white" so that the definition of the image is captured. (svg files are not allowed)

I did not understand the reason for duplicating the ring. Is it impossible to work only with the original ring?
@crossbytes3d7 ай бұрын
The reason to make the duplicate is to make a Boolean intersection using it to obtain the inner part of the raster lion extrusion. Getting 1- The ring / 2 - The smooth lion created with that intersection of the duplicated ring. If you see 03:42 The original ring is hollowed out with an extrusion so it is not possible to create an intersection using it with the extrusion. So using the parametric features like restore object or duplicate gives us the possibility to get more complex designs and structures and still keep a parametric and modifiable ring.

@@crossbytes3d Got it, thanks! Does it mean that I will need anothe duplication in case I want to hollow or texture the ring on the inner part?
@crossbytes3d7 ай бұрын
@@oshritdah No, it's not mandatory, you can extract the original object at any time even if it's deleted, but it's useful duplicate it to have it in the document so if you want to do multiple boolean operations it will save time.

Is anyone else havng issues rendering metal and gems in crossgems8?
@crossbytes3d11 ай бұрын
Hello Yolanda, We are currently aware of this problem and we will try to solve it as soon as we can. A workaround is go to materials panel, and change the color of the metal that is being use to black.
