I think a large part of the appeal to country is the downtrodden, working life. In recent years that hasn't always been the case music wise, but there are plenty of songs about the pains of having to provide and be the best you can be all at the same time. I like how Shaboozey prefaces the drinking song with why, not just let's go get drunk. If you look country over the years you'd find a pattern of story telling, some about the struggles and strifes of working class life, some about trying to have a good time (drinking songs), and then some of coming to some spiritual place in light of those struggles before. It's a big circle and very human centric. That's why I love country. Country pop to classics all the same. It's the story.

This is a slightly different group than you saw in Hallelujah. In Hallelujah, the 2nd soloist was Avi Kaplan, the bass singer. In this song, the 3rd soloist (white jacket) was Matt Sallee, who became the bass after Avi left the group in fall 2017. Matt is the only change in personnel that Pentatonix has had since they began in 2011.
