Albon twice and gasly on the right side whilst being on the wrong side with verstappen

That was a good a reasonable take. Lawson has not been in top cars in F2 say like the Prema cars and that makes a difference and bad luck, mechanical and team mistakes have hurt him a alot. So now that both Liam and Colapinto are driving what do you think?
@Max_Flashheart18 сағат бұрын
Lawson in COTA p19 to P9 and this Race to P9 after spin from Piastri is fantastic. The Alonso Hamilton double pass was fantastic. I felt bad for Colapinto crashing twice and Alex really smashed his car. max was incredible that will be a historic drive.

we are not in a hurry to see a video. certainly get right to the point at 1st, then measure your words. When you slow down a bit, you stop saying, "Um" or having to correct yourself. ends up being faster and easier to listen to

Lawson is way better than Colapinto. Franco crashes too much, he thinks he knows better than the team (smartass), so basically, he deserves to be in the freezer one full year.

F1's lost generation lost to Toto Wolff's collusion with the FIA's engine regulations to ensure Mercedes supremacy, and ultimately Daniel Ricciardo never stood a chance against Lewis Hamilton/Nico Rosberg. While it is true that Red Bull/Renault were very powerful with Vettel, that was an anomaly where McLaren and Ferarri lacked to engineering might of RedBull/Newey.

The difference between Colapinto and Lawson is that Lawson had had a lot of practice with F1 cars before competing. Franco had only done one free practice.

Great analysis!! I think Franco's merit gets even more enhanced by the fact he just drove a f1 car in an fp1 prior to his debut (besides the kms needed for superlicense). I dont know for sure, but most of the other drivers had a lot of private tests in an f1 car before their debut, just as Antonelli and Bearman did. That 8th place at Baku was his second race, and included him doing an impressive p6 on Q2 with a williams. Without experience on the car, neither the track...Just makes you wonder and fanatasize about how high his performance rooftop actually is.

The pun in the title, nice. Not like in the COVID year. ROS and RIC have opposite outcomes that underscores one fundamental truth. You need to start with a winning capable car and team. RIC bailed and never recovered form. I know this is statistical analysis, but I think you're leaving out a relevant, but difficult to assess as it's more subjective, driver temperament. I think RIC cared more about being the "love child" of the team, just as I get the same feeling with NOR. NOR is only in the discussion this year is due to the cliff the RB20 fell off and Perez under performing. I feel NOR will end up in the Good enough, but never won "Loser Generation" list too. The car changes are a huge factor too. This is subjective, but I feel the way PER and VER learned and progressed to get to F1 is also an intriguing lens to assess driver temperament. Access to resources and the consequences of waste mind set. PER did well in over performing in mediocre to ok cars. But, since getting into a winning capable car and "money is no object" team, he has under performed massively. He seems like a fish out of water. The one characteristic all WDC drivers have, the ability to adapt to more of the variables of car, team, and environment then anyone else.

@samacw11 күн бұрын
The same happened with Schumacher he was so dominant we only had 2 champions born in the 70s and 4 born in the 1960s. Two of those were born in 1960. It's harder for talent to come through now with academies and fewer seats plus with most races seeing 90% of cars finishing there's less chance of a random result making someone an overnight star. People whine about the likes of Bottas going on way past his peak and achieving nothing since leaving Mercedes, but lots of drivers have always done this - Alesi, Boutsen, Coulthard, Alboreto, etc.

Well that's fascinating. If anyone has left anything on the table it's Bottas since joining Sauber. He should have been doing more from mid 2022 until the end of 2023, so he could at least have stayed for Audi. I really think this video highlights just how dominating Vettel and especially Hamilton were and it blocked any opportunity for drivers born from 1984-1993. The same thing is happening with Verstappen; he is blocking anyone born from 1994-2002 winning a championship. Another thing is that top teams in F1 now have more stable line ups it's harder for drivers to move up the grid from the midfield. We have seen that, as you said at the start, with Sainz / Gasly / Ocon / Albon. We saw it before with Hulkenberg / Magnussen / Vergne etc. not getting a promotion to a top team despite good results.
@bumblebity290213 күн бұрын
Sadly team gone backwards and that's nothing to do with Bottas
