Nelson Eddy is a funny guy! Glad to hear him sing…my Nana sang in the Philadelphia Civic Opera in the later 1920’s when he was there.

This play has been popular for many years. There was a production in about 1925 (?). I've had fun looking at several different versions, and so far, , may I recommend : Jack Benny & co, 1941 (?), Charles Grobin, , with Efrem Zimbalist Jr., 1982, (last seen here in "77 Sunset Strip" !), plus a few other amateur performances which were pretty well done... Enjoy !😊. ("From Brazil, where the NUTS come from !")🙂🌴💙🌿😊

Honestly, Jeannette and Nelson and Gene were severely screwed up. Bottom line, if you get married, don’t cheat on your spouse.

Nelson and Jeanette made 8 movies together between 1935(Naughty Marietta) and 1942 (I married an angel). My favorite ones are Rose Marie (1936) and New Moon (1940). All the other movies are great. There will never be a pair of musical lovers like these two.

it certainly was not a surprise i don't think she hid her health issues from him. they landed up moving into apartments across some street and spent everyday together for a very long time. It was reported at her funeral attendees acted as the spouse. this was no secret in hollywood.

Tragic lives. Eternal rest. Only curious after hearing a cartoon whale. Not into film actor lives beyond checking as few able to not divorce. They achieved that by deception. Actors.. surprised but not surprised served as a spy. War makes some think there are no consequences of heaven or hell, but without it, anything is permissible. Film message in Return From Ashes 1965 with Maximillian Schell.

I'm as much a fan of Jeanette MacDonald as anyone else but asking her to sing Isolde( if even for a few minutes)) is asking too much of her
@rossmartenak55176 ай бұрын
So-Called "Gene Raymond" wasn't even his real name. He was born Raymond Guion. He obviously sold-out his birth name to the greedy & deceitful 'Hollywood' and anticipation of greater recognition & money. It also implies parental & heritage disrespect.

Nelson was last because he wanted his welling emotions to be shared with her corpse, alone, unseen, undisturbed, She was his greatest friend. His life revolved around this woman.

Translation: Nelson!! It’s an extraordinary timbre; I saw it for the first time in a film. Spring days, I fell in love for life. Our whole country was in love with him. I was 14 years old then. I dreamed about him at night, he sang to me. And recently, in a dream, I dreamed that I was telling him what I like (now I’m 86 years old. Many years ago I received an autographed photo from him, as well as a photo from Jeanette herself. They wrote about this event in our newspaper. But I can’t find his video solo concert. I’m waiting for a response to, classmates, , Zhemchugova Butyrskaya. I will be very grateful. Thank you.

We sincerely hope that footage survived and some day it may surface. As of the mid 1950s, Nelson stated that MGM still had it and was screening it to see what might be done with it.
