Hey Ark! A better way to define fursona is persona, and persona is short for pernsonality right? So if you want it short explained - Fursona is your furry's personality, what species they are, and their... personality. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

Hey, that's a really good way to look at it! I never thought of it like that before. I think you're right that a fursona consists of many elements. Personality and species, as well as appearance (fur color and special features, for example), I would say that name is also part of a fursona. However, explaining to a non furry that a fursona consists of many elements may be confusing or make it seem like im trying to hide something 🤣so maybe I should stick with furry personality when i tell new people ahaha

OMG!!! THANK YU!! I use Soundtrap to mix songs; I think most people use FL Studio to do that shit but I've always used Soundtrap and I know the ins and outs so it works fine for me. Also yea lmao I was so anxious!! It was a really vulnerable moment 😭

this is so interesting!! ive always seen furry conventions on maps held in places like indonesia or africa and wondered what they were like compared to more populated furry con areas, thank you for documenting this! :-)

I feel like the more isolated areas have been developing their own furry culture in private; although there were a lot of commonalities naturally, I did notice some slight cultural differences. The biggest difference I saw was that SAFC was much more fursuit focused - I would say about half the events at SAFC were fursuit only, compared to maybe 20% of an average US con

Me too!!! The con has very ambitious plans to grow. I think it's very tough though because South Africa is very difficult to travel to; I was only there becuase I happened to be in the area for study abroad, but for other people, spending $1k+ on plane tickets is probably a major turn off. Best of luck for the con though <3 the African furry culture resemble the American furry culture like, 20 years ago, so maybe in a few more years more Africans will become furries and soon SAFC will be the new Anthrocon haha
