Haven't been able to get past the first first step unfortunately. The Ipod icon won't appear on my desktop, it only appears in finder. Even with the 2 options enabled to view them on the desktop. Anyone else run into this?

I did this and it worked! only problem is that when i try playing some songs it says "your computer is not authorized to play [...]. would you like to authorize?" I log in with my account and nothing happens. This ipod was from someone who recently passed away and i wanted to preserve their music so i can upgrade the hard drive to a flash card. will this affect playback on the ipod when syncing again?

What if it was reversed, transfer some music on the Mac into the ipod?
