Very interesting discussion with intelligent people. Amazing that there are only 80 views, and no comments. As relevant now as it was then. What is valuable about such an event is that, while different views are represented, it is set in a moral and ethical, rather than political, frame. And, refreshingly, one that is non oppositional.

Just read David Sheppard’s biography by Andrew Bradstock. Glad to have found this. The book was very good.

Glasman's an interesting one. Seems genuine about wanting to unite different fractions of the left. Would have much preferred if Kier Starmer had appointed him as an advisor/gone more down the Blue Labour route than the bland Blairite one he currently seems to be trying to emulate.

Interesting. However, I still think many British natives would like the numbers to come down though. Cultural issues and population concerns (i.e lack of housing, overfull NHS and lack of public services) are the top issues when it comes to immigration. Many are not happy and many do not believe that Labour nor Conservatives want to change their immigration policy as they see immigrants as their economic gain.
