So, it's optional to say that V gave Royce the Silverhand treatment at 20:32?

David clearly went psycho due to reflecting on his own foul actions. Killing is killing, goon or gonk. No matter how strong you are, all chrome junkies eventually snap. No exceptions. Except one.

I treated this as three hours of the Night City History Podcast instead of listening to NC Radioport. Worked out well! Keep it up.

Keanu characterizes the role so well that I can’t see anyone as silverhand. Same goes his role as Neo in the matrix.

Game publishing companies aren't going to sink a ton of money into new stuff like VR so long as they can keep milking the tech we got to maximize profits.

The best way I was able to understand Cyberpsychosis was from how Red vs Blue handled the Church AI and his fragments. In rvb (for those who didn’t watch it), Project Freelancer was testing the limits of 1 Alpha AI by fragmenting its personality. Each fragment would then be designated to an agent of Project Freelancer based on the fragment’s personality and the freelancer’s personality. Agent North had Theta, the shy side of Church because North was a caring individual able to help with shy people, they worked like a charm. Now, later in the timeline (earlier in the show), Doc gets possessed by the Omega AI named O’Malley, Church’s aggressive personality, for quite a bit of time before O’Malley was destroyed, but left Doc with a personality disorder. Not quite like cyberpsychosis but just enough to actually make it make sense for me.

I hate this idea that he wants to be a hero so he makes himself the hero. Everyone is the hero in their head he has literally no control and numerous times shows himself to be a bad person in his memories. Word it better if you wanna talk psychology.

Y'know what's wild? David might've stood a much better chance in his final battle if he discarded the cyber skeleton and went back to his original cyberware.

Saying netspace is just hell and that the demons are actual demons is really interesting because there was an occult group called the ccru which tried to say a lot of similar things.

In real life without making everyone a Smasher there is no way an ganic could handle the use without broken joints, ripped muscles and more. A system will always be limited by its weakess part. A super fast reaction is no good without super fast brain processing then without a super strong frame to exert those movements not to mention without a compatible environment to exert those energy similar to cars.

I personally think they could have kept V in a coma longer than necessary to tie up all their loose ends in Dogtown and NC before offering V the freedom to go home. I mean we did just blow up the stadium well enough, Hansen is dead and we jumped a MaxTac convoy before diving headfirst into Cynosure. That’s a lot of damage to cover up and having V walking around once Reed submitted his full report would be enough reason to hold onto V. If the NUSA views V as an asset there’s no reason to intentionally cripple V. If V is viewed as a threat, the NUSA would never let V walk away; cybernetics or not. If the FIA is willing to assassinate their own agents, they’d have no issue removing some merc. I ultimately believe they actually happen to be telling the truth about the cybernetics. The coma? Who knows.

I've always taken the dog tags as Johnny saying he (Robert John Linder) was the one who died in the war, and the person who survived was Johnny Silverhand.

I was inspired by Morgan and tried to do a minimalist run one time with little to no cyberware and it was hard as fuck for the first half. I mainly stuck to upgrading my reflexes, body, and cool. I also used a cyberdeck because it just made stealth easier and helped with combat. Only other optional cyberware I had was the gorilla arms. Pretty fun.

Every new implant comes with its own tactical processors connected to your organic brain, trying to analyze the situation around you and advice you on the easiest path to win. No matter if you try to sleep, are drinking with your friends or making love or just walking around to see the city, the processors never stop. You kiss someone and the chips tell you how to kill her faster, should you choose to do so. No matter if the advices are perceived by one's consciousness or by one's unconsciousness, one can only resist for a while to this perpetual advice towards violence, efficient violence and nothing else. And of course the more and the more intelligent implants you have, the worse it gets. Until some fateful day, you finally give in and just do whatever the chips in the implants advise you to. And that is the Cyberpsychosis. Am I wrong?

No disrespect to the author but I hate the simplistic explanation of cyberpsychosis with "some people are good and some people are bad" instead of the more nuanced approach Cyberpunk 2077 gives us about it, which is that people under a lot stress, trauma and depression at the end snap due to the hypercapitalistic and dystopian world they live in. It could be you, it could be me, but it's the circumstances that makes people develop this type of psychosis (which is very in-tune with modern psychology, psychosis can happen to anybody btw, it is a side effect of stress and trauma). Some people are capable of not being affected by certain traumatic events (which are a common thing in this world) or have a good support system to do so, while others struggle and/or are completely alone in their struggles. Cyberpsychosis being a more nuanced social phenomenom (which Cyberpunk 2077 showed us) than an individual thing is a far better critic of capitalism than whatever the author meant by that.

Its the Roshomon Effect (named for the Akira Kurosawa film of the same name). Johnny isnt lying to us on purpose, but rather presenting a warped version of the truth through a reflection/perspective of his idealized self.

The original TTRPG image of Johnny takes on more context when you find out that they had originally built the role around the idea that'd it'd be David Bowie as the character. They even toyed with the idea of using AI to resurrect his voice for the role before moving on to Keanu.
