The customisation is crazy. 1. You pick your Faction 2. Pick a faction bonus (one of 6) 3. Choose a path and create your leader (12 variants 4. Choose traits, abilities, upgrades, effects. 5. Select your ships 6. Choose the crew to go in your ships 7. Select heroes for your ships. Even in the starter set alone there are a heap of options. Lots of spare crew. It's amazing 🤩

We hope to get some more back on the table soon! I've been eyeing off some Dropfleet Comander ships and getting some of the OPR ships printed up too!

Also follow up question do tou remove boarding tokens when a 1 2 or 3 is rolled? I read it as they stay until a 4+ is rolled and the boarding party is eliminated.

Oh WOW good catch, you are correct! It doesn't say to remove the boarding tokens if you roll a 1, 2 or 3. That feels VERY strong, they already were doing a heap of work regardless.

Yep thats correct, the only time we weren't playing this was when the other player had no ships of that size left.

@@hobbyhomiesyou roll 1 die for each boarding token on the ship. The token is removed on rolls of 4, 5, or 6. Any tokens not removed deal 1 damage to the ship. In that same vein. If you enjoy boarding tokens. check out the infected colonies army for FTL. Their entire gimmick is that you bring a bunch of super cheap reinforcement ships and whenever you destroy an enemy ship with boarding tokens you get to replace that ship with one of your reinforcements of equal ship size.

Down here they seem to pop up every now and then at second hand hobby markets, so I hope you can stumble across the ships you need sometime in the future! Yeah I think the surrender roll could definitely be house ruled, to maybe be a -1 to shooting rolls or require you to take a hold action for a turn. But we still enjoyed the game a ton!

Then pull the sheet off the "present pile" revealing a set up game of warfleets. I don't know how it will play out after that, I assume they'll be so excited to play warfleets that it won't matter

I still play noble armada: A Call To Arms occasionally. In a way playing after the game is dropped by developer is best time to do it. No one keeps changing it
