Comin from the future here, and I had used this method of making a music mod. Thank you for making this, but I need some help on something relating in-game. Whenever my work music plays, it will not stop whenever a fight track starts playing. I honestly do not know on how to fix this, so I need some help on what the heck is going on. Took me ages to learn that to change the farm music you need to type in "farming/music/farming" instead of "dontstarve/music/farming" at the RemapSoudEvent thing. I still have the problem of the music staying till the end of the current day phase... Also, do anyone know how to prevent the overlapping music? Till now i had to deal with it by setting the environment music way lower than the combat ones, for example, so that the overlapping does not make it sound absolutelly terrible, but it's definetelly not the best solution.

THIS IS SO COOL!!! I love this song so much, it's just so epic and beautiful. I'm so happy to finally hear a clean instrumental of it and your vocals are absolutely awesome too! I'm smiling so hard rn, I've been digging for Cricket & Clover info for the past year and it's so amazing to see that there still is interest for it and that the fandom isn't dead. After seeing videos on P!atd's history, learning about C&C, and witnessing that recording of the band playing this song live, my ears wanted to hear the studio version of that song soooo bad. Bringing this to light made me so happy I could at least sing to it cuz god knows when the band will ever release their demos from that album. We all know they are out there and tbh I have hope they will release those demos if we keep on demanding and showing interest. With the band dead it only stands to reason they might as well. I also hope this cover will wake them up to the idea too. A guy can only dream...

I have the issue where, when replacing 1 song, and leaving every other song undefined, in-game the songs are silent except for the 1 song I replaced... do you know a fix?

In the modmain notepad you want to delete all of the text with the RemapSoundEvent in front. You only want to keep the sound that you are remaping. Leaving the other RemapSoundEvents in the notepad will remap the music into silence. I hoped this helped. Sorry if i was a bit late to help.

@@-QuboD This code is right. The problem is most likely in Fmod. You need to make sure to delete all the other tracks he gave us and make sure ONLY music_epicfight_4 is the only thing track you're replacing. Otherwise you're gonna get blank tracks as they get added in the build when you make it (I think). Or at least that's what I did and my singular track works.

I never actually tried to see if another song would play after a song ends with the musicFE (main menu music). I imagine it should be set to shuffle and make it so its one shot so it doesn’t loop. Hope this helps!

@@maloyshketyk837 I am making a new music mod myself and I am forced to use custom tracks made in audacity too. Though I imagine adding songs in the sound bank of the song would make it play any of the songs on the main menu.

Is it normal for any music that you didn't modify to not play when testing the mod? I tested the mod I was making, and the only music that played was the music that I changed. I deleted all the other music in FMOD, and I was wondering if this just happens while testing, or if it's a problem.

@@jontylerlud there is no specific music, the work music plays normally, but when I get into a fight they both play at the same time, it happens everywhere, like in caves and ruins for example

@@berlin4803 yeah that’s super weird. Never heard of that problem happening except for certain songs such as the gardening music and moon fight phase 2 music. Not sure why that is happening to you. Sorry m8. I wish I had an answer to that :( If anyone else is having this problem, please mention it. If more people are having this problem it’s possible that there’s just something wrong with the mod now and I need to update it. :/

@@berlin4803 Oh, I ran into this problem too. You need to keep the red line that fades in music as it also fades out music. Otherwise it plays many tracks at once.

this is a great tutorial, however I'm struggling with the work dusk/night music. I've tested it in-game, and there is no work music whilst it's dusk or night. I believe the culprit for this is that in the modmain file, you can see that it replaces work day music but not work dusk/night (5:38). However, in fmod designer, you can see there is dusk/night work music (9:40). Normally this wouldn't be an issue, however I cannot find the location of work dusk/night music in the game files so i can add a RemapSoundEvent to the modmain file (the autumn work day music, for example, is in donstarve/music/music_work). I've been able to find other music (such as the newish EoT theme), however not dusk/night work music, probably because it doesn't actually exist in vanilla. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could replace work dusk/night music? thanks in advance!

That’s super weird because if you used everything I gave you it should just work even if you don’t see it there. I wonder if the games updated things overtime or whatever. Hard to believe everyone who’s been using this tutorial has successfully had the dusk and night thing work besides you even though they used the same files. I’d hate to say it but maybe try doing it from the beginning again or try downloading the mod I made in this tutorial and trying it to see if the dusk and night work in game. If it does work then there should be a reason why it works. Sorry this is happening to you man I wish you luck!

If you are referring to how you open the fmod files of other music mods in the workshop, you need to get that mod's "FDP" file. The thing is not every creator uploads their mod sharing those files because the dst uploader gives people the option to share or not share those files. Some creators WILL leave those files in their mod for people to check out if others decide to dissect the mod, however. So if you are curious to see how some mods do things, you are going to need to be hunting for mods on the workshop that provide these files

Most of this works like a charm, specially the sensitive dedicated tracks (Dragonfly, Antlion, Ruins, etc) FINALLY work for me, thanks a lot for that! However I think the (in?)Sanity file is screwed up, it plays constantly while being sane Also once triggered, the farming music keeps playing until a day phase change (even clashing with battle themes), anyway to prevent it playing at the same time as other tracks?

Yeah I don’t touch farming music because like you said it just keeps playing and clashes over the other music. No idea why the sanity is doing that. There is a sound variable that goes with what plays for when you “JUST BEGIN becoming insane” and there is a variable for the sounds you constantly hear when you are insane until you are not (the little subtle sounds you hear in the back when you are insane). You have to make sure you know which variable refers to which. The sound that plays when you JUST go insane is suppose to only play once with no loop (set it to one shot). The other one should be set to being looped like many of the other sound tracks. It’s possible you got them mixed up and that’s why it’s playing nonstop when it shouldn’t. Not sure though sorry :( it should work otherwise. My version does at least.

@@jontylerlud Yeah I set the 'gonecrazy_stinger' to oneshot a while ago and it works perfectly, but strangely the sound WHILE insane is completely mute, I'm not sure if its the 'sanity' one (which for me os playing while sane, and I just borked something) or it is another sound file that I don't know the name of

@@Sukaiba69 ah… damn well shoot that’s all I got my man. Maybe try working backwards? Triple check everything in the video? It’s possible things have been updated enough to make some of these things not work but I doubt that’s why it’s happening :/ From what you are explaining it is likely what you said. Because the insanity thing isn’t working, the stinger isn’t working either. Once the sanity thing is fixed the other should be fixed too. Really does sound like the game isn’t understanding what the ‘sanity’ variable is referring too in the game as if it did it would work the way it’s intended to work. Sorry I can’t be of any help I’m really not good with code as you can clearly see. I just learned how to create this one day thanks to a friend and wanted to show the world how I was taught to do it so everyone else can do it. 🤷

I got a problem on adding sounds in Fmod. Everytime I try and it will say "couldnt't recognise the format of the file. Is it really a sound file? " I had confirm that the music I added are .mp3 files. Is there any solution to solve this?

Sadly I don’t know the variable names for those songs. I’m sure if you dig around somewhere in the dst files you can find the code for the music and find the variable name for that song 👍

I know I'm late, but to replace songs not present in the sample mod, first open FMOD event player (to do that, open file explorer and go to Program Files (x86 )/ Steam / steamapps / common / Don't Starve Mod Tools / mod_tools / FMOD_Designer, then open (fmod_eventplayer.exe). Once FMOD event player is open, click on "file" at the top left then click "Load Project". Now we are going to find where the vanilla DST music is to find the music names, which is at Steam / steamapps / common / Don't Starve Together / data / sound. From here you will encounter a variety of FEV files, and which one you open depends on which music you want, however their names are pretty self explanatory. For the Eye Of Terror theme, we will open terraria1.fev. From there, click on the little + next to the blue file with the name "terraria1" in FMOD Event Player, and a bunch of purple folders with different names will appear. You will then need to dig through these files to find the music name (however 99% of the time there is a folder labeled music). Eye of Terror music can be found in the "common" folder, and is labeled "music_epicfight_eot". Now, open FMOD designer, and in your music mod file, copy and paste an epicfight song of your choice, then rename it to "music_epicfight_eot", and replace the music file with whatever you want. Then, open up the mod's modmain file (the one at 5:38). We are going to add a RemapSoundEvent for the eye of terror theme. When we found the filename of the music in FMOD Event Player, we also found its location, so we can use that here. At the bottom of the modmain file, copy and paste this: RemapSoundEvent( "terraria1/common/music_epicfight_eot', "music_mod/music/music_epicfight_eot" ) make sure to save the modmain file once this is copy and pasted (save the FMOD file too, while you're at it). Now we're done adding the song itself! simply follow the same steps to build the mod and publish (or update) it, and you should be done.

@@stuffedanimalwars7692 Gonna need an update on this, I tried the steps to add some of the new songs to be modded and I was unable to change stuff like EoT, Daywalker, Sharkboy among other things. I also wonder if there is a way to mute Ruins/Lunar Island music when starting the fight with Fuelweaver/CC without needing to change the mod. I double checked the code and I was unable to do this. When I tried to add the music, the entire music mod failed despite saying "Success". Maybe I did something wrong, but tried for a few hours and unable to get it to work.
