That would also work, but it would it more expensive than regular table salt and may transfer more 'salt ' flavour.

I stumbled upon rice krispies by accident??? I was heating my pan with a tblspn-grapeseed-oil, walked outta the room, got slightly distracted, came back in the thing was almost smokin', I threw the rice in and was about to dump the water, when a bunch began to pop...huh, they are so good! homemade...though I like your salt idea, I bet those would taste better than box RKs, cause of the slight salt, perfect combo with milk/sugar just a dusting of salt...mmmmmm TY FT!

I tried it,my family and friends really enjoyed it. I eat a lot of it. I used Apple Cider vinegar in it and though not having used vinegar in bread before, that it took on a lightly additional flavour or it could be the extra virgin oil that I used.Either away it was a hit! A lovely crust and moist bread texture topped with butter.😋 I would try it again with an adjustment in oil or type of vinegar.

Puffed rice is similar but not the same. Puffed rice uses the build-up of steam inside the rice to expand it. They are soft and tasty, but not like rice Krispies. Rice Krispies are a "toasted ' puffed grain. The salt process in the video also toasts the rice, making it taste a lot like rice Krispies rather than Puffed rice. Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍🏾. The taste test in the video link below will show the clear difference: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ombEgq2mZ8ajnNUsi=wKr3utob9Z1pEO8H

I would recommend using a heavy skillet. The salt also comes away with a smokey aroma and can be used in other things. I like to float some of the puffed rice on soups, like egg drop, hot and sour and even tomato basil. This has become one of my healthy go-to additions to foods, it is also great on salads. This is very easy to make, so I also recommend doing several batches and storing them.
