Putting the water tanks on the deck of the cabin will alter the stability. Keep the water storage low to keep the center of stability low. Have a deck shower.

I'd be careful of weight chucking 60kg on your roof (re: the water tanks). The sailfish have got a sturdy footprint but that'll still make it more top heavy than need be. Might be ok, but worth considering.

there's a lot of 4x4 gear that will work on a boat, kickass have a shower tent that ive seen fitted between the two donks and the grey water just goes straight in the ocean, be aware of putting to much weight up high as the COG will change. i'd be leaving the weight of the water low in the boat, you could have a black tube up there that you fill to heat just before a shower or one of those gas hot water systems. you can probably get an electric one if you put lithium in the boat.

Leave the fresh water tank under the hull mate and run a line to the back of the mullion that holds ya hard top if that makes sense and then fit a retractable hose/shower head to a flush fitting storage box if that makes sense? There will be too much weight on ya roof that will lead to cracking and other issues in the future. Looking good though man 👌🏼🍻

I'm enjoying this build but would like more information. Eg. Where did you buy the boat? Price? if you were misled by the previous owner? How many hours spent of your time? Cost of materials etc

Don’t want weight up top as has been said. If you want to save stuffing around welding a new tank have a look at those bladders. They do work well and you can get plenty of storage with them as they can be stuffed in all sorts of places. Having done the odd black tank in a boat. Full face respirator is a must.

Black tanks on the roof would get scolding hot bud, I'd have a tank somewhere inside maybe where all the pumps were or where the drain catch was for the inside shower. Run a line out with a pump that was you have a pressure shower and not just some dribble from the roof. It would also be worth having that same water feed maybe run through a water filter system so that you you have safe drinking water for longer trips.

As the above comments regards weight up high. Also looks like you are up north, black tanks = 3rd degree burns.

With the roof liner out I would look at mounting the water tanks and pumps in the below deck location and mount the shower head on the deck inset like the Bluecat 30 has done kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqLKenZrhspse7csi=R-wcI0yAXHETAyNR

Nice work. Your inline filter is a pressure accumulator tank for your water system. Good bit of kit, make sure you include one in your refit. You want to keep all your weight down as low as possible, water tanks under the deck are the best way to go. In the past I’ve used a 15 litre pressure weed sprayer from Bunnings painted black for a portable shower. Leave it on the deck of you want to have a nice warm shower at the end of the day.

Doesn't look like your using the right grade of aluminium to replace the deck sheets. And why are you pressing flanges on the outboard edges of the deck plates why not just cut them in properly?
@WaterboyzFishSurfSpear
@WaterboyzFishSurfSpear 6 ай бұрын
Hey mate using grade 5083 on the hull haven’t had issues using it in the past in marine applications. Surprisingly Sailfish decks are riveted and sickered (I think they still use this process today, but i could be wrong) not a true sealed deck I will reinstall it how it came out, if I need to make any modifications later. I don’t want to be cutting out a fully welded deck to get into things like fairing blocks if I don’t get them set up right on the first run. 👍🏼

Why you being a hater John. The young man knows what he's doing.
@john27270
@john27270 6 ай бұрын
@@jackjfjfjf never seen anyone pressing flanges on deck sheets before so curious. Using the right grade aluminium is also important as 2 years down the track he will start seeing pitting on the deck, sheets. The radius and tooling he used to fold the decks indicates its not 5083 aluminium.
@jackjfjfjf
@jackjfjfjf 6 ай бұрын
@@john27270 1. It's his boat and he's a fabricator if he has issues he can fix it. 2. You can bend 5083 aluminium without it cracking. 3. It's his boat.
@john27270
@john27270 6 ай бұрын
@@jackjfjfjf yeah correct, if you pay attention to the tooling you can see its not 5083 aluminium. As one would know, when you go to the lengths of modifying a boat its easy to take shortcuts to save you a moment of grief. A moment doesn't last a lifetime, I've seen it time and time again with incorrect materials and practices causing lots of expensive bills later on. But you're right its his boat 🤷‍♂️
