Deep water fishing is a thrill in itself, not always knowing what you might pull up from fishing deep water brings back why i loved the sport in the beginning. In this episode we target Ruby snapper, one of my favourite fish to eat and an awesome looking fish.

We always freeze our fish in water, tastes just like the day you caught it! Would save wax coated milk cartons put in the fish and fill with water. Works awesome.

Enjoyed the vid. Caught a 4kg ruby today in 280m off Nauru. I found your pump and wind use of the electric reel interesting, more of a hold and winch guy myself, not in the rod holder. 1st priority is outrunning the sharks, 2nd landing the fish. Once sharked I change spots as they will just keep on stealing fish, rigs and everything. I generally keep a tight drag to get them off bottom, then lighten the drag so they can pull line when needed. I recently made my 120lb mono leader from 80lb braid to deep drop rig 10-15m long to give me some more stretch to pull less hooks. I also use this rod sword dropping. I’ve not tried soft plastic squids down that deep before but will give it a go seeing your success. Thanks for sharing and keep up the good work. Have you tried daytime swordfishing? Would love to see a vid on that :)

I have caught several of these fish while fishing for reds at night in 60 metres of water. Great looking fish, fight more like a mackerel then a reef fish. Wasn’t overly impressed as a table fish. Pretty dry. Reds far superior. Enjoyed this vid

I did forget to menshon that ruby snapper has a brons color not red.. you did catch queen red snappper.. the ruby snapper do lives mainly in then azian regions sea waters..

Hello.. You are new in my favorite fishing video and know that i know from you what i was wondering tobdi with my electric reel when i will use it soon.. What can be not so good for a electric reel is to start stop the motor so many time because it will accumulate contact scratches on the contact switch. For how long are you using your reel like that by start stop it so many time ? I am interested to buy a good simple simrad fishfinder that is able to reach deph of 400 meter plus and yours seems what I am searching for. What model of simrad fishfinder do you have ? That cooking was wel organized it was simple fast tasty nutritive and seems to me spicy as wel.. Waiting to know the fishfinder simrad model you have and ready to watch more videos from you..
