Oh you didn't. I am wrestling with the idea to get one. I've got the TP 24 in 4000 and C3000 size. Ever since I bought them I was wondering if a reel can get any better than this. It will be interesting to see what you think once you fish with the Stella. Basically, is Stella a much better reel compared to the TP in order to justify splashing £600 on it.

Honestly like I stated in the video it's very hard to tell them apart. Blind folded I bet no one would be able to tell them apart. The one thing I do like on the Stella is the handle knob. Something about this knob just feels so right in the hand

Honestly Shimano spools are are the same meaning you can interchange any 3000 spool with a different model Shimano spool 3000. That being said Shimano list their 3000 spools as 6lb -230 yards 8lb -170 yards 10lb -140 yards But it definitely is off because 3000 spools I can get anywhere from 180 to 220 yards of 10lb Braid depending on how much I want. Not sure what that transfers into meters for you. I live in the states and we go based off footage / yards.

I've picked up the 2500 size Twin Power FE and done a review on it myself, they're a bloody good reel! However the FD models are currently on clearance and the prices they are going for are hard to pass up. I've got the Stella FK as well and the Stella and TP FE feel almost identical to each other which is not surprising considering how much tech they share. But one thing they both lack is the bullet-proof feeling of the TP FD.
@artificialslinger9730
@artificialslinger9730 16 күн бұрын
Absolutely agree with everything but the twin FD. I actually find the Stella FK and Twin Power FE to fill more solid then the twin FD. Had 3 FDs they just didn't feel like the typical Shimano core solid reels. Maybe I got 3 " bad " ones but buying from 3 different locations Im assuming that's not the case. But the FD is definitely a solid reel. But they selling them at like the $300 to $350 mark. I personally rather spend the extra 100 to 150for the newest one. But that's me 😆 gotta have the newest models 💪🏽🔥 But one thing I will add is I honestly don't think I'm gonna buy another Stella again. The core solid twin powers as so close to the Stella I honestly don't find it worth the couple extra hundred price difference between the 2. I think I'm gonna stick with the twins for now on. But when the new Stella comes out that may change 😂

100% true. As a Daiwa guy rocking Cerate 24, Certate SW etc I bought a Twinpower FD for fun as an "Experiment". The Twinpower FD is now my go to lure reel. Its super light , super smooth and so strong when combating large fish. The drag gives the fisherman absolute confidence in landing any fish. What a reel by Shimano. Looking at getting a Smaller 2500 Twinpower FE 2024 now for smaller species. Don't get me wrong Certates 24 is awesome but there's some something really Special about this Twinpower......

How does a Stradic fm compare to it?
@artificialslinger9730
@artificialslinger9730 Ай бұрын
The stradic FM is a beautiful reel on its own. But definitely in a lower league then the twin power. The stradic is like an Audi while the twin power is like a Porsche. Twin power has few more bells and whistles and better parts which makes it more durable and way better longevity. My favorite feature the twin power has over the stradic is the slow oscillation. This gives the twin a way better line lay for better casting , smoother casting and smoother drag runs with bigger fish.

@artificialslinger9730
@artificialslinger9730 Ай бұрын
Honestly probably the same because they are both core solid reels. But theres a 2 things that added that I absolutely love that I didn't think I would. 1. The slow oscillation And 2. The line roller fin. The slow oscillation makes such a big improvement on how the line lays so darn perfect on the spool and makes casting so much more " easier ". I barely put any energy into my cast and can still get 30 yards with ease ( that's just a example of testing it out on my own ) And The fin under the line roller bearing / bail keeps the line from getting a limp so when you are in a hurry ( for example see Redfish or something ) you reel in super fast and cast back out or it's a windy day while feeling you don't have to worry about loose loops nearly as often as with a standard bail system. And with the two they both help cut down wind knots even more.

I choose Shimano over Daiwa because their reels are super smooth, no wind knots. For me their spool technology made the choice easy. "Shimano ARC Spool is a patented spool design with an angled spool lip. This design enables the line to leave the spool with less friction and in smaller coils resulting in longer more accurate casts. ARC spools are proven to reduce backlash and wind knots when using braid." That's it, game over for the competition in my wallet.

@@artificialslinger9730 There is a lot of grease actually on the drag cap (part number 145NP) but even when try to turn it in my hand out of the reel I have to put significantly more effort to turn it. I don’t know of any reel that will cast 200yards why does any bass angler need 200yards of line unless they like to waste line. And well I use cheap filler line just by a smaller reel that uses less line
@artificialslinger9730
@artificialslinger9730 3 ай бұрын
The amount of line has nothing to do with casting It's rather or not the reel is under spooled , filled perfectly or over spooled. If underspooled casting distance will get cut alot If filled perfectly you will have great casts and performance If over spooled you'll get knots I agree bass anglers don't need 200 yards. But for inshore fishing for big redfish ,snook and smaller tarpon you definitely want that 200 yards. But for most inshore fishing only really need about 150 yards. What I normally do is use backing ( i.e. filler ) for about 50 yards and add that 150 yards of braid. But with any new reel I always top it off with as much as braid to see how much I can get on it comfortably without it getting knots and impeding the casting distance.

Just bought c3000mhg and when i hold the rotor and move / wiggle the reel arm it has play. Loose with the gear it feels like. My stellas have a tad bit but not as much as this. Do you have this issue?

No , nothing like that. Unfortunately with anything that's manufactured some reels can get past the last inspection before shipment. My Stella FJs are solid as well. I'm gonna be doing a update video on this reel here shortly.

Could you hold the roto and wiggle the handle to show how much movement there is. I have 3 stella fks and they all have a slight movement but the vanquish is a bit more like twice as much. I assumed due to the lighter build

I hope you didn’t end up changing the drag washers. Felt washers are much better for light tackle applications.

@artificialslinger9730 4 ай бұрын
I kept the felt until it went bad but now it's a carbonfiber. The trick for carbon is to add a little bit of " lighter weight" grease to them. Do that and they just as smooth as felt. Best part of carbon is they very rarely go bad.

Definitely not a stella but a good reel. I have both, but some how my go to reel always ends up being the stradic 2500 ci4. 😊 Maybe because it's paired up with an expride i dont know. I really do want to love the TP a little more but the stradic just will not let me. Help?

I found a deal on this and stradic fm. $319 for the TP or $160 for the stradic FM which would you go with for the price?

Great Prices for both. Would depend what situation and rod you plan on using it for ? Open water ? Structure ? Little of everything ?

@@artificialslinger9730 little bit of everything. Paired with a 7 ft medium st croix legend tournament inshore. I have a sustain fj right now that I love but was having similar issues with the line roller that you had with the TP. I messed up the line roller post and other parts trying to take it apart to replace with a ceramic bearing.. replacement parts are all out of stock so looking for another reel

@@FLFlatsmaster if you plan on any structure fishing rather it's docks or thick mangroves I'd go Stradic hands down. The twin power be fine for open water , oyster bars , light mangroves or low tides where the water is not up under the trees basically anywhere you can allow to play the fish out. I just feel the straidc has the better frame for any type of heavier drag settings

Honestly on the rocks I'd stick with the stradic. But the new Stradic FM just came out and that's what I would definitely suggest. Save the extra money on getting Stradic over the sustain out it towards some new baits 😊.

They have certainly gotten better since they started. I wasn’t a fan of their products early on, they weren’t really anything special. They have put out a lot smoother reels since then and it’s definitely hit my list of To-Buy reels. I’ll probably pair 1000 w/ power handle with an Old18 buoyancy light rod and have it as a gift for a family member. Love how loud the drag is. May go with the new Tatula LT MQ as a substitute.
