Ink curing with a heat gun is possible.Also temp gun is needed to cure with a heat gun or not?HOW long will it take to cure?
@OhioInkSupply2 жыл бұрын
Not needed but recommended. It will tell you exactly what your temp is for properly curing the ink of your choice. The length of time it will take for the ink to cure varies on the ink itself. You will want to find the curing specs from the manufacturer and cure it to those exact specs. ie: 320° for 10 seconds

question... u said plastisol is plastic polymer based ink.... so is solvent based is also plastisol? or solvent based is just another type of ink? second question .... can partisol ink can use for type woven bag?
@OhioInkSupply3 жыл бұрын
Solvent is solvent based. It's a different type of ink that is typically either air or UV cured. Mostly used in promotional products printing or signage. It aheres well to most plastics. Ventilation is a must because it's pretty smelly. Plastisol can be used for most textiles including bags. Feel free to send us an email with the exact bag you're referring to and we will be able to let you know if our ink will work for you. [email protected]

Could I cure a shirt in the oven at home? Thinking plastisol ink on Comfort Colors shirts. Can't afford a flash dryer at the moment, and I'm just starting out!
@OhioInkSupply4 жыл бұрын
Used to do that when I started. Lol I would advise against it for safety seasoning but any source of heat that gets your surface temp up to 320 would work. Not very efficient however. We offer finance options if that might help.

To keep the garment tight against the pallet so that when you are printing multiple layers of ink your shirt doesn't shift. This ensures that when double hitting a white or printing multiple colors that your registering remains on point.

(Sometimes) my plastosil ink comes off with strong scratches of my fingernails. What can that be due too. Im curing at 320F for 15+ secs.
@OhioInkSupply4 жыл бұрын
Possibly old ink. Try mixing your ink really well. You want the surface temp of your garment to reach 320. Meaning the temp of your dryer will probably be around 650-700. Hope this helps. If you are doing these things and still having issues, I recommend ordering a quart of our Fluid Plastisol EX ink. It will solve your issues.
@vladpierre26944 жыл бұрын
Seems I've fixed the issues. Though the surface of the ink reaches 320F, doesnt mean the ink below the surface also has (it may be at 300F). I let the surface reach 340F this time for about 20 seconds and it SEEMS so far to have fixed this issue. Hope this helps anyone.

You mentioned using the discharge on 100% cotton, but what about cotton blends, silk, polyester, rayon and other synthetics? It may seem like a weird question, but I do fashion design and really would love to be able to create specialty prints on a small scale for some of my work. Do you have an ink recommendation that would work for those fibers? I would prefer something that is not plastisol if possible.
@OhioInkSupply4 жыл бұрын
Yes. You will need a 100% cotton garment in order for discharge processes to work properly. Water based inks give you a nice fashion-forward feel. Check out silicone based inks as well. Very soft. We can assist on both fronts. Feel free to call our offices on Monday when we are back or check out our website.

@OhioInkSupply4 жыл бұрын
We recommend curing plastisol ink with indirect heat such as a heat gun or conveyor dryer. Direct heat tends to make the ink much more brittle and sub ceptable to washing out
