I'm using an OG copy of the game that I have, and I didn't have to make any changes or patches, surprisingly. I've had an issue in the past where for some reason when I interacted with either of the two drone frigates I had, it'd cause my game to crash. I believe it happened after I reloaded the mission from the autosave as I tried to avoid having the gameplay interrupted by manual saves and etc. What I ended up doing was replaying the mission prior and tried that same mission and the issue went away. I can't say I know of any way to skip a mission, but if I happen to find anything, I'll let you know with a reply. Also let me know if replaying the prior mission helps to get around this issue.

@@ByteUserGamingthanks for the quick reply! I tried loading a save from the previous mission and starting Mission 10 over again, but the crashes continued. It’s weird because it was working perfectly up until Mission 10. I found a way to use a debugging script that lets you start a game on any mission with whatever ships and resources you want, effectively “skipping” a level. It worked but it crashes during the opening cutscene of Mission 11, so I wonder if the game is somehow corrupted.

@@ByteUserGaming okay so I had to reinstall the game and back up my saves. Everything seems to work again and I was able to progress. The files must have somehow been corrupted during Mission 10...

@@matternicuss Glad you were able to fix it. From my experience with older games, it wasn't exactly uncommon to have to reinstall a game due to a game breaking bug, or to just restart the whole game because you don't know when your save files may have been corrupted. Hope you enjoy the rest of the game.

Looking back at all the games I've ever played, this one holds a very special place in my heart that no other game I believe can ever replace. I feel like it would be nearly impossible to create a sequel to really live up to the same feeling that this one brought me. The story, the music, the gameplay mechanic and innovation that it brought, and the fact that the ending credits is what introduced me to one of my favorite bands, YES. Having played the sequels, I still think they're great. They bring something new to the table that make them great. Homeworld 2 I greatly appreciated them creating squadrons for the fighters and corvettes that way they're easier to manage. Also shipbreaker for making the "mothership" a more useful unit other than a spawning point for your ships. The only game I haven't played yet is Cataclysm, which I plan to play next fairly soon.
