That is a good idea! I'll check and get back to you this weekend.

Oversize tools are always attractive whether you have a use for them or not. Something almost primal about holding and huge ass socket, breaker bar or spanner (wrench). My 1” socket set should last a lifetime. (I’ve never used a single piece 😂)

Iove you comment, it's a major bummer to read. Just a few hours before you posted this, I lost my pouch. Loaded up with so many things I've collected over the years. I'm gonna miss that Leatherman surge, I had it for over a decade and plan to give it to my son when I'm older. In the end, it was a great pouch and I recommend it.

I looked at the Vevor website a couple of weeks ago, so this review is right on time. I haven't bought anything from them so I'm interested to see your review and maybe a long term review after you've had them a while and used them. Looks like it's made from the finest Chineseium, now the real test will come I have no doubt.

I must've discovered Vevor about the same time as you. This is my first purchase from them and I hope it works out long enough to make that long term review. Fingers crossed!

Yeah, it will be nice to just know that I have all the sizes that I could need. No longer will I be searching through various sockets looking for that one size. Having all one brand is nice too.

Interesting video...I have a similar set up, although I have fewer wrenches as I am trying to keep weight and bulk to the minimum. Added to that, if the truth be told, on modern cars, I am not going to be doing a huge amount on the side of the road... So what would I add to that kit? A set of needle nose vice grips are good for clamping break hoses in an emergency...an LED head torch and work light, a bit of plastic tarp to kneel or lie on...a compact multimeter is not essential but can come in handy..A compressor and li-ion jumper starter have already been mentioned in the comments. A couple of boards (say 1 1/2" x 10" x 15") to put under the jack on soft ground... Safety gear...I have a folding warning triangle, a pop up traffic cone, and 4 flashing warning lights so I can set up a safe (ish) zone around the vehicle.. Finally, i have some consumables: a few cable ties, including some stainless steel versions, a 3' length of fencing wire to tie up a broken exhaust, exhaust goo and bandage to try to do a temporary repair, tape self amalg and Rad Weld for the cooling system, assorted fuses, a few crimps, insulation tape and a hank of electrical wire, plus at least one headlight bulb...Finally a couple of tubes of super glue, plus some two part 5 minute epoxy.. A final thought...if your love ones drive a vehicle with locking wheel nuts, have a think what you are going to do if they have a flat, but have misplaced the "adapter" to remove the locking nuts. I now zip tie the adapter to the spare wheel so it can't go walk about...

You bring up some very good points! I usually take some time in the spring to revamp my kit, taking out what isn't used and adding things that I've been missing. I will be taking your suggestions to heart.

I appreciate the video but that does not prove that the relay is the issue. All you did was bypass it, taking it out of the equation completely. There are safety circuits that control whether or not this relay closes.
@GettinJunkDone7 күн бұрын
Maybe I missed something, but I was under the impression that if everything else is in working order and it doesn't start, this is an ideal way to test the starter relay. In other words if it doesn't start and bypassing the relay, removing it from the eqaution, allows the truck to start, the relay by process of elimination is the problem. Granted, everything else must be in working order as mentioned. I am unaware of these old trucks having safety circuits like you mentioned. They may be there, but I have started my truck a number of times like this before I replaced the relay, all with a screwdriver. It got me by for a while and worked each time.
@gadnuk71597 күн бұрын
@ your reasoning is sound if the only requirement for the relay to close is the key being turned. There is an MLPS or neutral safety switch on the auto trans and also a clutch switch on the manuals that has to be in working condition for there to be a signal to the relay when you turn the key. Bad wiring, a bad plug, a bad MLPS, or an MLPS that is improperly adjusted will cause a no crank like this. I have a problem with my MLPS and I can start my truck by jumping the starter relay and it will start every time
@GettinJunkDone7 күн бұрын
@gadnuk7159 That's good to know. I guess if you could start the truck with those other components not working, you would know right away. In the end this is still a viable step in diagnosis.

I would personally use it to hold stuff in place while assembling something with a lot of parts like one of my butterfly knives, which has 2 washers and a bushing for each pivot. it's a pain to put the handles and blade together and fit the pivot after a maintenance
@GettinJunkDoneКүн бұрын

It is a slotted screw driver with a wedge style grip for the head of the screw. This is typically more helpful when dealing with non magnetic hardware items stainless steel, brass, aluminum, or any other Non-ferrous metal. Also more helpful when it is hard to reach by hand. Most people probably haven't seen it because it is a specialized tool, that is only needed for niche applications (also having used one before I can personally say they suck in my opinion)
@GettinJunkDoneКүн бұрын
I figured that's what they were for, and it's nice to know that my guess was close. Nonmagnetic fasteners is a good point. Chances are I will never use these.

SK no longer meets your requirements. But i do like the thin buckles on those SK's you have there. To bad if u have to warranty any of them it will come from China. I trust Taiwan as much as USA especially now that American workers no longer have pride in their jobs
@GettinJunkDoneКүн бұрын
It is a sad state of affairs isn't it? It would be amazing to get a tool company to reinvest in the American worker but using a facility on US soil, but certain things would need to change first.

Screw holding screwdriver. Old school stuff. Used to get a screw in or out of a recess. Common before the advent of the battery powered tools. Phillips headed screws were considered somewhat of a nuisance. Back when made in Japan was considered cheap.
Electrical.. holds the screw in place on the tipof the screwdriver

As some already mentioned, they apply pressure/friction on the screw so it doesn't fall out and drop in an area that would be hard to reach. They even work on Phillips screws. Great for things like electrical panels. Snap On even makes those.
