This was a great video, thank you! It’s hard for me to tell from the video, but I’m looking to set the backlighting to a warm white setting, not a huge fan of the rainbow look haha, does anyone know if that is possible on this model?

does any WD-40 fits to doing this? I bought just a regular WD-40 and i dont if it's DRY LUBE or no as it simply is't mentioned on the bottle. it just says WD-40 (stops squeaking, displaces moisture, cleans, protects against corrosion, releases rusted mechanisms). Should it work???

Just wanted to say this video is perfect for beginners and the way yout explain things is so clear and simple. Great vidoe and easy to follow! Also I had a question what are some solid tactile swtiches for a keyboard if you know any? I was looking into the Neapolitan Ice cream at cannon but they are currently sold out...

Thank you for the very informative video. Do you recommend using the tape mod for this kind of keyboard? For all TE modding videos, I don't see anyone using tape.

if you got the red linear switches just adding foam and tape on the stabilizers improves the sound a lot

First of all, Fantastic video. Going to follow it to mod my new gmmk2 96%. What are your thoughts on the keycaps? Are they worth changing? I only have $20-30 left on my budget right now so trying to see if any pbt keycaps in that range would be an upgrade to the double shot ABS ones that they come with. Thanks!

@Clint_the_Audio-Photo_Guy11 ай бұрын
I never thought about modding a keyboard. You got pretty in depth there. I use a $14 white keyboard I got on Amazon, with fixed 3 color RGB, haha. It never occurred to me that there was something better.
@BrokenPineapple11 ай бұрын
Why would you buy new stabs? You still have to mod the new ones, why not just use the stock ones and mod them? Bonus, the stock ones fit! If you ever decided to go brass.

@captaincoty6969 Жыл бұрын
also to add to make it even better if you pinch the metal on the side of each switch to make it tighter it makes it alot better as well. (make sure you dont do it too much) it made a world of different along with lubing and filling the case up with sound dampening foam.
@captaincoty6969 Жыл бұрын
IMO you just cant save the purple switches the sound is horrid however the razer Huntsman TE with red linear optical switches with this effort and more foam sounds premo after.

Hey, just recently bought this keyboard and the spring ping is playing on repeat in my mind and i can’t get it off lol. Will lubing my switches with superlube multipurpose PTFE have the same results? (eliminate spring ping/ not ruin the switch,keyboard.) Dry lube isn’t available in my country

I did the exact same mods as you and I feel like you've over "sold" the sound difference. Its an awesome keyboard and I freaking love it! But I don't like when youtubers lie like you just did.

1:04 - Wait wut.. The standard normal GMMK 2 with the standard switches comes PRE LUBED ?! Is that true ?
@bigxie Жыл бұрын
Yes, the standard switches (Fox switches) come with "pre-lubed" parts. While it's better than nothing, it can certainly be improved if lubed over with your own application.

Yeah the original GMMK wasn't available in 96%, the V2 is the first version with this form factor as a choice.
