I drove on the Dempster Hwy this summer up to Tuktoyaktuk. A little quicker than I wanted to (13 day round trip from Toronto), but glad I did it. The Yukon is now my fave province, and I do plan to go back in 2 yrs (2026). I loved camping off the side of the Dempster in Tombstone and after Eagle Plains (although was anxious about grizzlies). Thankfully, only issue was a cracked windshield on my 4Runner due to careless trucks from opposite direction ($1K deductible 😢). But my gas mileage was decent at 14.5L/100kms. A really beautiful province.

Thank you for sharing your amazing experience in Lofoten Islands with us. I would love to go one day. Only wondering when is the best time to go and to see the Northern lights as well.
@WJMPhotography17 сағат бұрын
Thank you for watching, Violet! Having been over there in both January and February, I would suggest February as you have more daylight to work with. I don't think it matters too much for the Northern Lights between January and February as it will still get dark early in February and it will really come down to how active the sun is while you are there. Last year, I was there during the first two weeks of February and I was very happy with the photos that I came home with. Ironically, when I went in January, it RAINED almost every day, but in February, we had snow almost every day. I don't understand why that would happen, but February turned out to be a much better month for me overall. :)

Thank you for watching Nancy! Lofoten in the Winter is truly amazing and I'm hoping to get another crack at the Northern Lights again this year. The sun has been very active lately and some of the recent solar storms have been bonkers. I feel like I haven't really been able to shoot a BIG Northern Lights show up there yet, so maybe the third time will be the charm. :)

Thank you so much for watching! I have subscribed to your channel as well. It was definitely an amazing trip. Ironically, I am currently shooting waterfalls here in France for the next couple of weeks along with the French and Swiss Alps. There are a large number of waterfalls in the Jura Mountains, close to the Eastern border of France. I am finding that there many similarities to the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon, and the leaves are now changing color. Also...I visited the Cirque du Fer a Cheval two days ago and counted EIGHT waterfalls on one massive wall on my way into the park. I'll be headed back there again this week. After I get back to the states, I am definitely hoping to visit a number of the waterfalls on your channel!

Hi Lorelei - Thank you for finding your way over to my KZbin channel! I'm actually in France right now shooiting some Autumn colors close to the border of Switzerland, but I will try my best to look for my 3 sisters photos as soon as I get back. Can you send me a message on FB as a reminder? I had a couple of really nice mornings alongside the river that runs in front of the 3 sisters and I'll try to send you some links as soon as I get back. :)

Hi Naseel - I'm sorry I missed your question. I've been out traveling and just got back. If you look at episode 3 of this series, I show a map at 3:40 in the video. Most of what you will probably want to shoot will be down toward the South near Reine, Sakrisoy and Hamnoy and most of the locations are right off of the E10. I hope you have a great time! Hi Bri - I was on my own for both of my Lofoten Trips, but cell service is pretty good on major roadways on the Lofoten Islands in case you break down somewhere. I did see about 4 accidents while I was there as it's not uncommon for people to pass you in snowy conditions when they are in a hurry. I generally take it pretty easy when the roads are icy and I haven't had any problems so far. The studded snow tires definitely help in the Winter!

I thought you can bypass the reservations on the weekends if you go at night because the booths are closed?
@WJMPhotographyАй бұрын
Hi Lam - I think you are correct. For busy Summer weekends and for the Horsetail Fall weekends in February, I think they still leave the gate open for vendors and for guests who might be arriving late when there is no one in the booth. At the beginning of this video, I actually drove in around 5 AM, before they had closed the park due to the heavy snow and no one was in the booth. If it's a hazardous situation, I think they usually close the road much further down and the CHP or park Rangers will usually be there to turn people away. On the day I got snowed in, I left after I heard what was going on from a Ranger and didn't try to stay overnight. All the guests were being asked to leave at that point and couldn't come back until the heavy snow threat had been lifted. - I just checked and the NPS confirmed you can still enter the park without a reservation on busy weekends, but they say you need to arrive before 5 AM or after 4 PM.

Ireland maybe filled with a great people they wish to be but they lack the light to show the way. For the dsrkness they display makes them not trustworthy and Dangerous . Ireland should be about Truth Justice Honor Integrity Peace Security And Safety and Family Values and Hospitality. But sadly its not always the fact . In the past ive has my shares of bad experiences with irish people in the catholic faith that had prejudicd and disrespect for me in a way i hate . The irish people want my respect they needto show me they can change for the better. I have no quarrel with irish people unless you make it one . I will not be a part of anyone's Bloodfueds And international Conflicts and Grudges Matches. I will not take crap from anyone or anybody.

It didn't occur to me either until I started researching for the eclipse. So much potential on that island! I think Gord had been there for years but has just made a dent. There is SO much amazing looking coastline, and so much of that looks like it's either private land or under-developed. Between the lighthouses, sea stacks, waterfalls and icebergs in the Summer, it just looks amazing!

Which weather forecast app you are using to check the amount of cloud ?
@WJMPhotography4 ай бұрын
Hi Ada - I use a combination of Windy and Ventusky to get a look at the cloud forecast and try to match it with where the clouds look like they are headed on the satellite view which is available on both apps. For sunrise/sunset color, I use both SunsetWX (they have a Europe model) and Skyfire on The Photographer's Ephemeris app. Of all of those, I think Skyfire is the only one that I pay a subscription for. Skyfire and Sunsetwx are usually only 50-60% accurate, but both are good if I am trying to decide where my best chance of light will be. :)
