Another fabulous video William - thank you for showing us! Really like the way you narrate the trials and the long awaited beauty that makes it all worthwhile. Great video footage and stills. Hope your back recovered well and rapidly!

Lots of driving in gray and rainy weather ... and then all of a sudden ... 15:00 ... unexpectedly and suddenly, an epic photo ... a winning picture, first prize, gold! Congratulations! 👏

I could not believe how much rain there was in September...like EVERY day, but occasionally the sun would break through and those times were amazing. Thank you for watching!

Loved it! The aurora shot took my breath away and tears came to my eyes. You’re a great storyteller!

Very highly recommended. Right now, I'm planning to return in early Summer as that midnight lasts for hours. Can't wait to try some of those hikes again at midnight!

Nice video mate. I’ve been to Lofoten & the mainland a couple times but never Senja, always wondered would Senja be better than Lofoten. Weather is always the issue in Norway especially when we travel so far to get there. I’m still not sure whether to go back ? Have a window next October & trying to work out where to go. Thoughts?

Hi Brett - Thanks so much for taking the time to watch! The colors in mid September were already changing so if you went in early October, I think there would still be quite a bit of color to shoot around Senja and Tromso, but if you were thinking about mid October, the trees and brush might be bare. I think Segla and Hesten will look fantastic regardless of the time of year, but Hjusfelet looks best during the Summer with the sun setting in the North. I might go back during the Summer next year just to try shooting around that whole range with the 4 hour sunsets in the North. But the big advantage for September and October is that you still have quite a bit of daylight to go out and explore with at least some of the Aurora visible on most nights. The peaks just above where I was were already getting snow in September, so if you did end up heading there in mid October, you might be able to get aurora shots in the snow. I’ll be headed back to Lofoten again this Winter in February with hopes of more snow instead of rain this year, and more clear skies. Maybe it’s just me, but I had almost the exact same conditions last January in Lofoten - Almost non-stop rain with just a bit of snow and no clear nights. My luck has to change at some point...right?

Thanks for the reply. I’ve never experienced good weather in Norway, I think that’s just how it is there. A lot of rain wind & snow constantly changing. Having New Zealand at our fingertips it’s always a big call to travel 30 hours & the costs involved for places like Norway, when new zealand is world class & always delivers. Not to mention how expensive Norway is. Having said all of that Norway does have some stunning landscapes. It’s a tough call.
