There’s been so much talk about MGP in the Norwegian media lately-and not in a good way. Honestly, this year feels like a bit of a mess. NRK even admitted they struggled to find artists, partly because of last year’s controversies, and some artists are now boycotting MGP altogether. Two of the most hyped acts, Lavrans and Angelina Jordan, pulled out last minute, and it really feels like NRK was banking on one of them winning. That might explain why the rest of the lineup feels a bit underwhelming. On top of that, this is a transition year. The Head of Delegation and the MGP project manager are being replaced. (The lineup we’re seeing now was still picked by former HOD Stig Karlsen, so next year will be interesting with a new team in charge.) Add budget cuts, artist boycotts, and the fact that both MGP and Eurovision had their lowest viewing numbers in years-it’s no wonder this season feels underwhelming. But i don’t think it’s as bad as many in the Eurovision community is claiming. That said, I think our best shot at Eurovision is “The Game” by Nataleen. With strong staging, it could be a solid entry. Fingers crossed!

The song is about finding the happines regardless of any difficulties one may have in life. She was diagnosed with some sort of illness that limits her life quite a bit and she's had to slow down a lot (she's living life at a lower pace, thus she's going "slower to the grave" compared to the "people who can 'run' ").
