"Balance Of Terror" is Absolutely my favourite episode. especially when the bridge crew with bridge navigation person "Styles" gets to see for the first time that Spock's distant cousins are "Romulans" the look on "Leutenant Styles" face is priceless.

A mile deep under mostly iron with deflector shields? Damn that weapon is powerful.

The gist of this episode is reminiscent of the byplay between American destroyer Captain Robert Mitchum and German u-boat Commander Kurt Jurgens in “The Enemy Below”.
