Every time I try very gently to speak up I feel as I'm seen as being over dramatic to those around and just worse off than if I just stay silent. It will most likely fall of deaf ears anyway because anyone that would understand wouldn't even say such thing 😪 sorry for the rant, just had one of those bad gp experiences we're all familiar with

See a physician, that’s the best source for these answers. Don’t use the Internet for medical advice; there’s a huge “clinical judgement” component at work here that you don’t get from the Internet. Disclaimer: this is not medical advice, just sound life advice.

Hii I am by no means a qualified doctor however, I’ve struggled with an eating disorder for 5+ years and I’m majoring in Biology. I have read many journals in the International Journal of Eating Disorders because it’s so interesting to find out how much of an impact eating disorders have on bodies and the psychological aspects. What I’m getting at lol is that you are still young and most likely have not completed puberty yet. Once your weight is stable and along with all other vitals, your body will play “catch-up growth”. This means that when your body is at a more stable place it will begin to function efficiently and this includes development and an high possibility of an increase in height (I’m only saying high possibility because I do not know what your expected height is and how tall you are now). Don’t be discouraged if you don’t see it right away because your body is still trying to repair itself and it must repair the damage done internally then it can focus on other things such as your period and height! Please keep pushing girl. I know exactly how you are feeling right now and as hard as it may be it’s worth it. Life without an eating disorder if what life is supposed to be like and life with one is not a life at all. Don’t give up, the you after recovery will thank you so much. I’m so so proud that you chose recovery 🫶

I gained 50 pounds in FOUR MONTHS and feel terrible personally... but that's because I personally fell into binge eating. But it's harmful to act as if it's impossible to overeat when recovering.. I've overeaten even when I was 40+ pounds UNDERweight.. I do believe it's VERY possible.. but I get you'd maybe not get that since you didn't really seem to gain much fat at all in your recovery

I'm sorry to hear you've had this experience. I'm not saying it's impossible to go from anorexia to binge eating -- it certainly is. As a result to starvation, the body is BOUND to want to bounce back to what feels a whole lot safer. It's for this exact reason that it's so beneficial to work one on one with a professional to address your unique circumstances 😊 🙏

is bloating after recovery temporary?
@HanneArts
@HanneArts 16 күн бұрын
For most people, yes. However, it can definitely last quite a while as the body heals and gets used to eating more and a greater variety (so it's always worth checking in with a medical professional if you're worried about this and want to get things looked at)

So glad to hear , as an ex sufferer , you are helping others. I never sought help, back in the 1970s, nobody knew much about eating disorders. I would never trust, or talk to anyone who claims to help annorexics, who hasn't been through it themselves. I had to get through it my own way, away from the fears of puberty, the social changes, and my parents divorce, and it was my Grandmother who helped me. She never forced me to eat, watched me eat , and we always had meals at exactly the same time. I never ate so much til I felt full and uncomfortable, and she would always give me a small portion, and let me help myself to some more. With a settled lifestyle started to recover, but my personality changed and I never had a teenage life, and became very backward with my school work. I'm 68 now, and still suffer the after effects of it, gut problems , food difficulties, but I'm content in my lifestyle, and very fit and healthy for my age.

I will say MINE turned into binge eating from the stress of eating again 😆 i dont agree with just dismissing the fact someone who is at a extremely low weight COULD be binging.. thats how i got to the highest weight I've been since no one would support me in " eating less " again after i was sick with Anorexia..
@HanneArts
@HanneArts 28 күн бұрын
I hear you, and I completely agree that restriction can trigger this kind of response from the body. However, I think it’s so important to be mindful about the language we use. Referring to it as “bingeing” can feel so loaded and might discourage people from even starting recovery. To be honest, even the 'extreme' in 'extreme hunger' can feel incredibly off-putting (especially in response to such a natural bodily reaction). When the body has been restricted, it needs that extra food to heal and replenish-it’s not something to feel ashamed of, even though it can feel overwhelming. And it’s also true that emotions and other factors can play a role, especially as we process everything that resurfaces during recovery. But that’s probably a whole other conversation (or the topic of an hour long video)! 😅 Thank you for sharing your perspective-it’s such an important discussion! ❤

I'm here to tell you how you helped me! In addition to our long conversations and all your support and patience in answering my questions, your work helped me accept that I should recover, you guided me on the path to recovery. You taught me not to be afraid of extreme hunger and embrace it, you showed me that healthy eating can be light and fun! You taught me that I can and should eat enough! You taught me to embrace spontaneity and laugh in those moments instead of counting every calorie and having anxiety attacks. You taught me the biological side of anorexia and nutrition, something that still helps me today. Finally, you taught me to choose recovery, to choose to be myself again, I managed to get out of anorexia thanks to you Hanne, even in another country, with another language your warmth enlightened me to Full recovery! I will be forever grateful!💚🤍🩵💙
