Why only 2 db gain reduction? I think the difference could be heard only when pushing the compressors more. You could just basically not even compress... and then say wow they are almost identical... like comparing a formula 1 car with some regular car driving 10kmph...

I got a VLA and could NEVER use it on mix buss because it overloads way too easy and I ain’t turning my mix down to use it on mix buss. Seriously this thing whines bad if your level is too hot. It’s an ok sounding comp. No character at all it’s pretty boring but does do a decent transparent compression. It ain’t gonna pump if you’re into that

I just use midi and put my slave module to Channel 11. That way I can control everything with one module using and plug ins. If I play live I usually use the sounds I’ve loaded onto a strike module utilizing the inputs of both modules

Im getting that G Comp and Violet with SSL...you pretty much have an Authentic SSL 4000 E Stereo Channel at that Point you can run both of those through an Heriatage Audio Chasse for $2300 thats not not bad......or is it better just to get the SSL 2 Bus + Ive got a Mackie 32.8 Im justing the Warm Audio G Comp with it as a Stereo Insert Aux IN AND OUT back into the Mackie 8.32 Bus console...its sounding really good

The TD-25 has drum sounds from the TD-30 and it definitely shows. I’ve wanted to buy one of these modules used from FB marketplace, unfortunately I can never find one reasonably priced. These units are more expensive than buying a used TD-17. Roland skimped module features:no midi I/O, no direct outs, you can’t split head/rim zones, I believe only 1 additional trigger input and very limited editing/EFX options.

Good info! How can I record the line out of a Street Cube while busking? I used a Zoom H1 with a jack to jack cord but the result was a single channel and not a good sound. Are there any portable recorders to get the stereo sound from the Cube's line out? Thanks.
@PaulPrevoo-j5q5 ай бұрын
He talks about recording at any level (Master) silently. But you need a cab connected to prevent your head from frying! Any tube head needs a load (speaker cabinet) If I turn the master all the way down no signal comes into my audiointerface. You just can't record silent this way. What am I missing here?
@JAFOpty4 ай бұрын
I think that when you connect something to the Emulated Output, the speakers is muted automatically. So he is basically just using the FX out signal and ignoring the emulated one.

It looks like you had the stereo link engaged on the Art Pro VLA. That results in an inferior sound when using the compressor from my experience.
@yannikmarcus9788Ай бұрын
why is that the case?
@SoCalxSurfsАй бұрын
@@yannikmarcus9788 As far as the mechanics go as to why this results in sound degradation, I don't know. Something is possibly being introduced into the audio path when the stereo link is engaged. An IC chip? I don't know. But I own this compressor and do know the sound quality is effected when the stereo link is engaged. Others have stated this observation as well.
