What supposed reputable guitarist doesn't even have an acoustic guitar???

the guy who uploaded this original video is probably dead now but a more obvious solution is to just remove the bigsby tremolo arm completely ......fixes both weight and string tension 👍

Good info about real vs fake but the constant clack, clack, clacking of your rings on these beautiful finishes shows everyone that you have little respect for your instruments, I wouldn't even let you pick up my Les Paul or one of my fake beaters for that matter.

I have a 75 Ibanez custom. I changed the tuners and pickups. It's amost 49 years old, it plays like a dream. The binding is flawless and tight. Everything is solid. It's not as good as my gibson. It is chambered, it does not sustain quite as long, and clean, it has no chance against my gibson. But I love it. It's just fun to play and cranked,it sounds fantastic. I just love the character of it. They are rare and vintage and are now selling for 5 times what I paid in the early eighties.

To this day, I can't understand why it is that they discontinued these stunning products...I bought a Royale RL3 Amber Finish in 2016 (?, could've been a year later, too) and it's the biggest bang for the buck, guitarwise, that I ever got! I still go back watching the presentation video done by late Mr. Bennett himself, which won me over from his explaining the construction and design decisions that went into these instruments. Not only did I learn a ton about guitars in the first place, but this way also established the foundation for a solidly informed assessment as to what affordable seni-acoustic to get at the time. Turns out that Mr. Bennett had done this awesome a job that in the end the Royals RL-3 won over an Ibanez AS JVM 90, which would have been twice the price and offering little to no advantage over the RL3. I guess the slightly smaller form factor at no sacrifice in tone helped with that purchasing decision. Nice presentation on your part!

Have you ever seen a Les Paul Special with 5 points, like a crown, on it? Trying to work if it's fake or not. Can't find another one like it.

I have a blue-burst baldwin version of that. I threw in a double hotrail pickup, and using the top 6 of a 7-string set of 10's. I swapped bridges to one with an adjustable 3&2 string saddle, to get it tuned.

Slash has a Les Paul made by Kris Derrig in California, not Gibson, and was used on Appetite LP.

If the guitar didn't require you to take out a 2nd mortgage it probably is a fake.

If you're paying $2000 plus for a used Les Paul and get scammed how much more or less would an authentic Gibson cost from a reliable seller ?

It doesn’t. Plus, why is everyone comparing the sound of distortion when it’s mostly the amp, or pedal? It’s the FEEL of the guitar that determines the vast superiority of a Gibson, especially over the HB DC, which I also own, and it’s not that great to play. NO COMPARISON.

The fact that the sound or playbility is not something to discern the guitars apart tells volumes about the nature of big brands and the money they want to sell you one of their products.

........Gibson had such a sonic success with the RD bass especially......in my opinion......the average joe is so one-track minded - I've compared those basses Leland Sklar has boosted......I think Gibson's RD bass is better......roll on Ghost.....tell Ghost to add an RD bass to their sonic landscape..... 12:36

I bought this exact model and finish a few years back. Love the feel of the neck, tall frets and especially that ebony board. I did surgery on mine, hot-rodded with a real Gibson tune-o-matic bridge, Duesenberg Les Trem, CTS pots, Switchcraft jack and switch, Graph Tech Ratio locking tuners, String Butler, and a Dean Baker ACT pickup in the bridge, which was/is a huge upgrade (IMO) over the stock Nostalgia model bridge pickups, and left that neck pickup stock as it sounds great. Anyway, years later this is still one of my favorite guitars in my collection, it plays fantastic.

Great review. So good that players are seeing past the headstock labels and seeing how good these things are. Artist guitars are great. I got one after seeing reviews by Shane too. The new AT 92-93 updates have improved 'em too. Nice belly cut, wrist contour and cuts the weight a bit!

Very instructive video. I was almost buying one B70 to put into my LP. I think I´ll quit. I would hate having to deal with tuning issues and I don´t think roller bridges looks nice in a classic point of view.
