Not sure if you ever got your 6R issues fixed but lately I have been able to pair a 6R80 to a BMW M57 diesel engine for a customer in Canada. He made his own adapter plate in his 2011 f150 3.5 EB 4x4. He removed the original engine used a BMW standalone ECU kept the original trans and PCM and I was able to adapt a calibration to operate the transmission alone Via very few sensors. Like Pedal, Crank Signal (RPM), coolant temp, and t-map sensors. The truck has bee a daily driver since December and I was able to get it to operate as if it came with the truck. i have a ratchet shifter of some sorts. Not sure the brand. All I needed it to do was shift from park to reverse to drive.

Hey thanks man - I'm going to try this on my car. I had Wilwood brakes installed a while back and they've HOWLED since day 1 once warm. Shriek may be a more accurate term. Braking in a tunnel or next to a large, flat wall or building is legitimately loud enough to cause hearing damage. I had my mechanic swap out pads and try various things but, he was never able to get rid of it. I'll give this a go. Simple enough to do every few months if it works. Appreciate the detailed video.

I turned do a pair of 10-32 bolts to make them threaded pins.

The "new" one from the store don't come apart very well. The center shaft has been shortened to fit my track width.

Using the alternator as a starter would be nice. One would need a 48v to 13v converter to run all the standard "old" electronics, EFI, lights, ect..

For future reference, the output shaft speed sensor reads the rear planetary gear ring, not the output shaft itself, and the ring contains 40 teeth.

What does the clutch setup look like? Any different from a regular Mustang 302 clutch? Are there any engagement issues with the splines on the input shaft and the splines of the clutch disc?

Same setup as a 302. Both trans use a 1 1/16 x 10 spine input shaft. Once you remove the starter spacer plate your only adding an extra 3/16 of an inch to the length.

Two piece with carrier bearing will fix the issue. That’s why Ford used them.

whats is output from Oss sensor? 5v or 12v? I have same problem and im gonna replace the sensor on lead frame

I think the sensor is an open collector type so it doesn't actually output any voltage but pulls the line low when the tooth aligns with the sensor face. Ideally you could add a 5 or 12 volt pull up with a 1k resistor and look for the going low transition. The DMM beeps when the output is near ground(when voltage potential is near zero across both leads).

Ford uses a two piece driveshaft with a carrier bearing in the middle for a reason. By design, you need a carrier bearing to keep it straight and wobble free.
