I love your build. Looks stock instead of obnoxious. Im buying a 94/95 f150 with a 5.0 and a bad auto transmission. Im debating with rebuilding the automatic but i think it would be cheaper, funner and easier to use a m5od from the v6 f150. I bet its a nice cruiser
@fixinonitgarage9 күн бұрын
Thanks, the goal was to make it look like everything belongs, even with a carb. It is a solid little cruiser. The 3.55 gears with a locker made it much more manageable in 1st gear too. The original 4.11 were just a tickle too much. ITts my old lady's truck and is back in use as her daily driver.

You have clearly never seen an Edlebrock carburetor before then because those are on all the Carter designed carburetors, and they are idle mixture screws that adjust the fuel/air ratio at an idle, idle adjustment is over on the throttle cable linkage… 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ I bet that engine is gonna be running like garbage in no time… if you don’t know how to tune a carburetor you should probably just bring it to someone who does.

Please explain more about the radiator location. I also live in AZ and have a 91 Explorer. The only thingS stopping me from doing a 5.0 conversion is wanting to keep the mechanical fan, having the radiator in the stock location, and keeping the AC. What did you use for motor mounts? Are they the ones that allow for adjustment toward the firewall?
@fixinonitgarageАй бұрын
@@AwesomeBuford I used 95 mustang motor mounts. Had to drill my own hole into the crossmember to mount them where I wanted but it gave me enough room for the mechanical fan. I did have to cut out the bottom edge of the radiator support so that I could suck the radiator in a couple of inches. It sits underneath the radiator support rather than behind it.
