Hi Cassie, how are you going now?? I’m going through TSW, I’m at 7 months now and it’s a struggle. Have you tried low histamine diet. Or just carnivore diet???

Hi Cassie. I have my flare pretty much in the same place (the worst) as you. I clean houses for a living and started wearing cotton gloves fisrt, with vinyl big gloves over top. It sure helps!! I buy my cottin gloves at Walmart. Stopped grains again for now, as well as mustard, peppers, tomatoes, black pepper. I also noticed if i ate too much salt, by morning my hands are swollen with fluid and itch so bad, i scratch and rub, locking my fingers together, until the itch stops but then my skin oozes, so i cut WAY back on salt. It's helped. I follow Susan Valkai and Ullenka on KZbin. Wonderful ladies! Hugggggggggs to you! No dairy or gluten for me. Still doing the process of elimination. Also checking into amylase to help break down carbs...

Hi Cassie, Thank you for so faithfully posting on your blog and KZbin. I’m on my 14th month of TSW right now and I feel like we have so much in common- especially as far as allergies go! It’s so restrictive and debilitating, and I’m reading hoping I’m not such an allergic mess and can eat normal food for maybe the first time in my life at the end of this! 3 encouraging ideas below: 1. You talk about reacting to everything. I totally sympathize! (The list of foods I CAN eat is so much shorter than what I can’t. 😢) Have you heard about histamine intolerance? I discovered I had it before TSW, and while there’s no way to fix the problem, knowing that you’re not *allergic* to any specific foods and that it’s a histamine build-up could give you a lot of peace and tools to manage it better. I found Yasmina at healinghistamine.com to be a really helpful resource. Pork, wine, and chocolate totally destroy me! Also: I’m a patient of Dr. Rapaport and he told me “everyone is better in 5 years,” so just set back your goal post one more painful, challenging year! You’re healing! Keep up the faith. You have so much going on right now and you’re doing so well navigating it and hanging in there. 3. As far as working out goes: I feel ya! I can’t sweat without horrible consequences, but I’ve REALLY been enjoying Qi Gong for Healing with Lee Holden (it’s a DVD). It’s really gentle movements you can do without stretching your skin too much, and really balances me. It’s a time commitment, but it could be a restful way to carve out some me-time in your day. 4. I’m praying for you as a sister in Christ and I’m sorry you have to go through this! “He disciplines who He loves.” ❤️

Hi feel your pain. I used a herbal cream in the uk called orange pe cream, was told it was all natural ingredients only to use the cream on my face for 3 years. I was always hungry put on weight allergies disappeared never thought the cream had steroids until I was unable to get the cream. I then started to get the rebound effect, face went bright red, insomnia, all tsw symptoms. I did some research and found the herbalist was raided by mhra a government regulator for medicine and they found high levels of colbesterol steroid super potent. I’ve lost 3 1/2 stone, my face would burn and sting every day and my hands. I take a Dead Sea salt bath every morning and apply aquaphour healing ointment on face and hands which helps.

I’m sure my adrenal glands have been effected just waiting for tests. I think after long term steroid use your body struggles with inflammation either from food, environment or chemicals and your adrenal glands can take years to recover so maybe look at supporting your adrenal glands with supplements.

Sorry you are not doing too well. You have done great pushing through all this time. I’m 2y5m and probably going through the worst flare I’ve had which started 14 months ago. Just no let up so sitting here with bandages on the arms and really struggling with it all over my face. Also sensitive to just about every food I eat. I’m getting to the point where I’m thinking maybe immuno suppressors may help me, maybe I can’t keep going like this. I don’t know right now but continue to try heal

I've been going through TSW for 3 1/2 years, it will be 4 years in April. My wrists are exactly like yours, the skin gets really thick and every day they flake. I use vaseline on my hands and wrists every night and it seems to help. M y lower legs have been the worst because that's where I used the steroid cream, for 3 years they were a mess, bright red, and oozing. During the past few months they've been showing a slow, gradual improvement and they are looking a lot better, they still ooze sometimes though. I too was hoping that I'd be completely cured by the 4 year mark but April is getting pretty close and I doubt if it will be completely healed by then. Sometimes it take s a little bit longer , the healing from this is a slow process. I listened to an interview from a surgeon who went through TSW herself, she must have done research on it because she said that if older people use steroid cream it can cause heart problems, strokes and cataracts. She said she told the Doctors at the hospital where she works "When you prescribe steroids you're killing your patients", so she's very against steroid cream now. I watched some videos from someone on youtube who went through it and she used collagen as a supplement, I'm considering trying that. Her channel is called "Fit and Nerdy", I'll put a link to it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eYbbY4GMoquUnNU

Most of us TSW people just use water on our face to clean it or nothing. I try to leave my face alone but if I have to clean it I'll just use distilled water on an organic dry cotton cloth wipe & pat it lightly. That's it. The less you put on it the better & it'll heal faster. I also have cut down on my bathing because I've found out the water dries out my skin more & makes it itchy. Less water on the skin is better & I never use soap. Since your skin is so dry to begin with it doesn't get dirty.

Hi Cassie, I hope you are doing well, your skin looks great! Currently i’m in my eighth month of TSW, (I am in Moisturizer Withdrawal) and i’m getting a little desperate. So I’m going through hell, scratching all night or hurting all night depending If I scratched my wounds open or not. I’m beginning to fear that certain wounds, mostly on my chest en shoulders, will not heal anymore.... if only they would heal without that maddening itch. Up till now I’m able to stand the (almost unbearable) pain, that turns into an unbearable itch after three days, and I can’t get myself to go over that bump to let my wounds heal. Did you have the same experience? Will there be a break?

Hi Cassie, so glad I found your videos. I am binge watching your journey and finding it both informative and comforting! I just started my withdrawal two weeks ago after stumbling across some information while looking into nickel allergy. It suddenly dawned on me that the steroid creams, lotions and Prednisone I have been using since the 1980's could very well be the cause of my continued - worsening - rash. 😒 I am a bit scared of what might happen the longer I go with the withdrawal, BUT I am terrified of what WILL happen if I keep using topical steroids!! Thanks again for sharing your journey! Healing hugs to you! Ginny xo 💜💚💛

Wow! Ginny, thank you for your kind words and congratulations on taking the first step of getting yourself better by trusting in the withdrawal process. It won't be easy, but it'll be worth it. Eat super green and clean, keep a tidy allergen-free environment, take lots of epsom salt baths, apply ice packs every day and night, and take lots of high-premium supplements to keep your body nourished and replicating healthy cells. You've got this! Hugs & blessings, Cass :)

I always wear rubber gloves when I wash the dishes, my skin wouldn't be able to handle doing it without them. Have you tried wearing gloves ?
@sagaciousliving68665 жыл бұрын
I wore nitrile and latex gloves for years and come to find out my skin was sensitive to both, so I don't wear any at all anymore. My hands do better without. TSW on the hands & wrists is hard to manage any wet chores because any friction with open wounds is still friction and irritation. I'm glad I found a dish cleanser I can touch without it bothering anymore than water, but winter months plus wet chores for anyone is hard-- for TSW warrior it's that much harder. Time will heal. Thanks for caring Stacy! ((hugs))

I have been living on t-shirts and leggings....no fancy clothes. My neck is my worse part and the creases in my arms....but I am grateful to God that I have passed the worst of it. Good to hear u are getting better and u continue on ur journey to fully recovering.

Sabhat I'm so glad we're in this together and you don't have to be alone. I'm praying for your skin to calm down. Hang in there and remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. Withdrawal is only temporary compared to other chronic health issues out there. Are you supporting your body well with an anti-inflammatory diet and good quality supplements?
@sagaciousliving68665 жыл бұрын
Sabhat, Good to hear from you. Thanks for watching my updates. I never would've discovered TSW had it not been for others documenting their own journey. I am forever grateful. Eat and live with green and clean choices to help reduce and avoid flares. Something to be aware of is that ointments, creams and chemical detergents don't wash 100% out of clothing, so you might want to invest in some new clothes and discard anything with steroids and chemicals from your past. Also, it's especially good to wear white (colorless) 100% cotton clothing while you're healing. Hope that helps! -Cass :)

Hi Cassie, I'm starting my 18th month and I'm seeing some healing in my worst problem area, which is my lower legs. I used to have eczema on my ankles and then with TSW the problem area spread to my feet and up my lower legs. I think the area where we used the steroid cream is the worst area for tsw. You once mentioned that your ears would peel,...the same exact thing happened with my big toes on each side, they'd peel off and there would be new pink toes and then a few days later it would happen again. TSW is very strange. I'm glad you're feeling so much better.

Sagacious Living Thank you for replying. I hope I can deal with it as good as you are. I am hoping through good eating (no gluten,dairy,sugars and tonnes of fruit and veg and supplements) it will help me through it a little easier. I’m already getting red arms still red face and neck and can’t sleep at nights through constant burning and itching and working full time too for the family but antihistamines help. Did you take those. Long time? What would your typical breakfast/lunch/dinner be? I’ve been trying illumination and sticking to low histamine foods and some anti inflammatory foods but I’m finding I can’t eat your usual carbs I crave (potato’s,corn, pasta, wh rice bread)Eating most brown rice to sub that now but thinking of cutting that as a trial. Seem to be living on chicken,salmon and fruit and veg but have doubts about fish too so will have to trial and error with that too. What are your thoughts on these foods? How quickly did it spread around your body once you gave up steroid? Sorry about all the questions but appreciate your time. You have been brave and strong in your battle with tsw.
@sagaciousliving68666 жыл бұрын
Sorry it took me so long to reply, I didn't realize I missed any messages. If you want to see my play-by-play during withdrawal, then check out my blog at TSWskinwar.wordpress.com. It sounds like you're doing a LOT of things right! Keep choosing anti-inflammatory and low histamine foods. I would recommend Shaklee vitamins at sagaciousliving.myshaklee.com because they have a really good reputation for product purity and efficacy, so you'll get the biggest bang for your buck and will help repair your body from the inside out. What kind of work do you do? Are you on your feet a lot or at the computer more? If you can still fit in a epsom salt bath (2 cups salt per full bath), then that will help with the burning, itching and oozing. Other than that, make sure you have lots of ice packs on hand at all times and see if you can keep your inside temp down under 70 degrees if you can (even cooler in the very beginning, like 65 degrees). I also used vaseline during the first few months, but ditched that as soon as I could. Week 7 I was a rash from head to toe. And around the 11-12 week mark I was detoxing uncomfortably 24/7 for a few hard days. And then each month brought it's own highs and lows after that. Overall I was fine working from home at my computer the whole time. Sitting still and just typing and clicking around was the best kind of work during that time.

Hi Cassie ! A couple of months ago I was at our pediatrician''s office with my daughter and my hands looked terrible that day, they were red and dry. The doctor noticed and asked about them, I didn't want to go into the whole TSW story because I thought she probably wouldn't have heard of it, so I just told her it was eczema. She left the office and came back with some sample size bottles of "Aveeno Baby Daily Lotion". I tried it and it's a great moisturizer. I bought the regular size of it and used it and it works really well. I also use Vaseline sometimes and Neutrogena Hand Cream but I think the Aveeno works even better than they do and it's only about $6.00. I bought a new one when I was out today and I put some on a few minutes ago, As soon as I put it on my hands felt sooo good and I thought of you. You might want to try it, it's very gentle for babies and I don't think it has any harmful ingredients. I just wanted to tell you about it.

Congratulations on starting your TSW journey! It's the scariest leap of faith, but one worth taking. You'll find that your body will heal from the inside out and you will feel SO much better before long. Make sure you take some high-quality supplements while you're healing, so you're body is that much easier to repair and heal. A comprehensive vitamin strip is the best, but if you need to start small right away go for a multi and extra vitamins A,C, E, Zinc, Omegas, and probiotics. I prefer the Shaklee brand because it's highly absorbable and zero tolerance policy for contaminants, which is really awesome for us being canaries in the coal mine. You can get yours here at sagaciousliving.myshaklee.com. Hugs! --Cass :)

I just finished my 10th month of TSW. I’m pretty active person and prior to TSW, I regularly run. I was too weak and miserable to do any kind of physical exercise probably the first 4 months and didn’t do anything at all. Besides I lost 10 pounds in the first 2 months so rigorous exercise like running probably wasn’t the best anyway. Since around month 5, I went back at running and I’m doing my 3rd half marathon next month. My skin was doing okay for a while but since beginning of March, it’s flaring up again. Not as bad as before, but still frustrating since I thought I made some progress. What kind of diet are you on? I look forward to your update every month. Good to know there are people out there going through the same thing.

Hi Reiko! Thanks for commenting. Congrats on 10 months! I've been feeling really good the whole time for I've been going through TSW, but definitely more cautious about activity level throughout the whole withdrawal process. I avoided the winter weather as much as possible so I wouldn't dry my skin out anymore than it was just being indoors with dry heat. I've been doing really well working out so far since making the video. I've been at it 2 weeks already and doing fine. You asked about my diet. I eat as natural, raw, organic and green as much as possible. Mainly water only with an occasional kombucha. I'm also gluten-free, and dairy/sugar/red-meat reduced. I have a SUPER long list of food allergies, so I make all my food from scratch with the highest quality ingredients I can find. What kind of diet are you on and how is your skin doing over all? Where are your tough spots where you flare the most?

Those bleach baths probably wouldn't do anything to speed up healing. I don't think anything done externally to the skin would have an effect, the healing takes place in your organs and blood vessels, they have to readjust to functioning without steroids....at least that's what it sounds like from what I've read. Any oozing you might have is just a normal part of TSW, it's NOT an infection. I've had oozing around my ankles (which is the place I was using steroid cream for exzema) , it's not an infection and it's still oozing every other day after 9 months. There's a naturopathic doctor on youtube who says the oozing is metabolic waste that's coming out, that's what he thinks anyway.
@yeniferlopez37 жыл бұрын
Hi Cassie! I'm also at a year and have been following along with you every step of the way! Our progress has been very similar. I'm wondering if you already have done moisturizer withdrawal or if you would consider it? I'm on week 8 of MW and my skin has recovered so quickly and I almost look normal!! It was a rough few weeks of shedding and a tiny but of oozing but it was so worth it! Anyway, just wanted to share! You're in my prayers, fight on!
@sagaciousliving68667 жыл бұрын
I found a moisturizer that I can use that helps and heals my skin to looking and feeling pretty normal. In fact, each time I run out my skin gets really bad, really fast and takes me that much longer to recover (such as my report in this video). I'm glad you found something that works for you. I prefer my Shaklee Youth brand PM Rich Moisturizer with Shea Butter. It's a miracle worker in my life! I learned the hard way of running out and not being able to live without it, so I now make sure to order several containers each month to last me all month long. Happy healing and hugs to you Cortney! :)
