The original version is already very big and Broadway worthy so having it be on actual Broadway was just inevitable 😂 I love this version so much! I don’t know which I love more. Probably this one. We get a big music break which is always fun. I love that Nala gets to sing more in this version. It feels very best friend like to have his best friend talking him up and agreeing with his big dreams. Zazu is hilarious and uptight in both versions and I love that 😂

12 years ago over the summer, my older friend died of a suicide while I was out of state for vacation with my sister. I didn’t know that he passed, so I was listening to this song on repeat all summer long not worrying about a single problem in my life. During that year, I suddenly started to have thoughts about my older friend as I was listening to song. It felt very weird to me when that happened. One year later, my parents told my sister that he died while we were away while I was eavesdropping. My heart shattered into pieces because he was such a the most heroic, loving, and wackiest man I have ever met. After I heard that tragedy, I started to listen to this song just to remember him. As a big Lion King Broadway fan and a Western African Drummer/Dancer, he reminded me of Pumbaa since he was lovable and wacky. Another thing was that he viewed me as a king just like Simba. Many years later, I had one dream about him cosplaying as Rafiki from the show singing “The Circle of Life” and lifted me up into the sky as the new king just like Simba. That was an unforgettable dream I had ever experienced in my sleep. I really miss him so much 😔

Viewing the Lion King, whether it is on film or on the stage, is magnificent. To imagine the greatness of life and how we all figure into the "Circle of Life" makes me feel grateful that Our Heavenly Father allowed me to experience life in all of it's many forms.
