The first moments of this video made want to play breath of the wild again. It made me remember why I suppose that, videogames could be a better replacement for excessive phone usage(as long as it doesn't end up replacing one addiction for another.)

Instead of hoping for another mirror's Edge game you should hope for it to become an entire flourishing genre. Cyberpunk has pretty good Mirror's Edge parkour, only missing wall running and a 180 or 90 turn button.

Love this game. There have been some games trying to include parkour (dying light..), but none felt so good. It's extremely disappointing that this game didn't change the movement in any other other game. At the time Mirror's edge came out I felt like it's a start of something new. That maybe from now on we will have this kind of movement system in FPS games. Similar disappointment like the playing games with great physics and then seeing new games having almost no real physics implemented.

If they’re clearly focused more on online games.. THEN WHY DONT THEY MAKE MIRRORS EDGE AN ONLINE GAME??
@OuttaHearts2 ай бұрын
They already have worldwide leaderboards in the second one for races… there’s so many unnecessary side missions but with some additional story and online features…. Bro, they already met the sales quota for that trash of a Part 2 (that’s story’s main character has a complete different story to the firsts…but had the same name??)

If dice is focused on multiplayer games why not? mirror's edge online where you can run around on buildings, in alleys, or on the streets, with friends and strangers, and you can challenge them to races or fights like a better version of the catalyst combat, and maybe a battle Royale but it's more like fall guys instead of Fortnite, and maybe a character customization

My favorite level design of all time is still Dark Souls 1 Lordran, but with Shadow of the Erdtree, I think From finally made something comparable. They created another world that’s a vertically stacked maze.

I'll say that my main problem with the dlc, other than the extremely debatable distribution of loot, was actually the level design. Not that it's bad by any means, it's great, but it pulled back on the aspect that I liked most of the world design in the base game for other priorities, even though it maintained many of the great things about it. What I loved most about the structure of the open world in the base game was how open ended the process of exploration felt thanks to the different strata and hidden corners and winding pathways around the terrain. In the base game, in Liurnia for instance, you could make radically different discoveries and end up on many different paths depending on what direction you go, and where you look while traversing. The main objectives(Stormveil, Raya Lucaria, Leyndell, the forge etc.) were always very intuitive to locate and pursue, but most of the discovery was done by going off the trajectory and turning corners and going over apparently unassuming obstacles to find branching and contorted paths to new places of interest that were just out of eyesight. Even merely coming through a zone from a different direction than usual could reveal new spots that were just out of sight beforehand, because of how masterfully the map uses geography and structure to either hide or highlight points on interest. You have to cross Liurnia from every possible direction and with every possible pathway before finding out all that it's there. In short, a good 75% of the discovery in the base game areas is done by going on on paths that diverge from the road toward main objective. The DLC is different in that it is not structured like a region of the main game, just more massive, but rather like a condensed version of the whole world. This means that the main hook of the exploration is the discovery of the connections between the areas and how to progess through them, and in that sense it is even more free-form than the base game. You can explore almost everything before fighting a single boss. On the other hand this means that the single areas within the larger world are much more streamlined, and despite being filled with content, the vast majority of the discovery is done on the path toward the main objective. They are structurally more similar to Mount Gelmir than they are Liurnia or Limgrave, more like curated levels with a few branching paths and corners than open ended areas that unfold gradually the more you go through them. This means that the exploration shines far more on the larger scale of the world as a whole, than it does in the moment to moment traversal within the single areas. It's more about the sheer scale and awe of finding and climbing the jagged peak than the satisfaction and surprise of discovering every nook and cranny of jagged peak. Jagged peak was awesome for what it was, but there's fuck all to do there. A part of me wishes they put more emphasis on that aspect and less on the area-dungeon-boss fight linear structure, but it would be a radically different version of the world design.

Never played Souls games before Elden Ring. The hardest part so far has been listening to all these "im a souls player" crying because the game was designed to punish their muscle memory. I dont think any open world map will ever have better level design than something more streamlined for a linear experience. Finding scadutree fragments isnt really an issue. I dont mind getting 2-shot and having to work harder to succeed. It actually feels like an accomplishment when you overcome a new challenge. Ive seen people complaining about things like being punished for trying to heal. And, like... the very first tutorial boss literally teaches you to not heal in front of the boss when its in a neutral state. Pop a heal at the end of a combo instead of trying to get greedy for more damage and all of a sudden you're doing that much better against a boss.

EA deliberately made Catalyst terrible so they wouldn't have to listen to fans asking for another, prove me wrong. They doubled down on everything we hated and made it a crappy open world game to kill the franchise, couldn't monetise it like the greedy pigs they are.

I just wish they would continue the story in some other medium. Like a comic book or something. We really have to get these companies to finish their damn stories. As a fan of the original, while I was excited for Catalyst, I was bummed out that it was a prequel and not a sequel. There were 7 years between the first and 2nd game and now it's been 8 years since the 2nd, so it's pretty obvious we're not getting a 3rd. The least they could do is tie up the story in a comic book lol.

@@NoxCast I mean. Some of the casting choices are bad. Like Kevin Hart as Roland. Ariana Greenblatt as Tiny Tina wasn't too awful. Cate Blanchett as Lilith was a little suspect. Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis wasn't as good as I hoped. Jack Black as Cl4p-TP was pretty decent. The dude as Krieg was spot on. The movie as a whole wasn't too bad. I give it a 6 of 10. And that's me being generous.

people don't get the appeal of literally looking at a romanticism painting every 2 minutes exploring this map..... the sheer beauty and spectacle of the map should be enough to justify this "empty" areas..... weird that this wasnt a negative on a game like ghost of tsushima. People will see you teleport and say you cant afford a car.... elden ring will be more appreciated as time goes on. Also people forget this content is attached to the amazing base game..... people compare this to bloodborne and dark soul 1 entire games, as if the story of miquella was the main point of the game. I remembered bloodborne also leave you that empty feeling after the dlc ended..... people are just ungrateful, spoiled, or dont wanna get deep into elden ring complexity.

"Halo is dead" is such a braindead take because it still has a fanbase. A few folks encouraging their fans to go try the older games would help wonders in this dire state. MCC despite its troubled history Ironically has the biggest potential to save Halo thanks to both nostalgia and mod support. The real problem is that 343 is greedy and lazy which is why they outsource the content to us fans.
