Mirrors Edge is a vital piece of my childhood. some of my first vids on this platform was me pointing my phone camera at my Tv while stacked on some books playing this game (they are private now). i miss its gameplay, aesthetic, and just overall feel. it wasnt perfect, but it knew what it wanted to be and did it pretty damn well. thank you for not letting this game fall into obscurity.

I loved Mirror's Edge as a kid too even though I was terrible at it haha! That reminds me I used to do the same but to record Minecraft on Xbox 360 gameplay lmao. I'll hold onto the hope that someday we'll get another. Thanks for watching!

It wasn't just the gameplay, the atmosphere, the art, the story it was also the music And Solarfields knocked it out of the park, as did Lisa Miskovsky with the offical theme. That 4 note piano just hits me in the feels and takes me back to when i first played the original

Remember: EA cancelled Star Wars Project Ragtag because ‘no one plays single player’. Only for their Fallen Order projections to be blown out the water when that game sold like hotcakes. A game like 2042 will eventually fade. An experience like Mirror’s Edge though will stand the test of time with the best of gaming & inspire players, just like it did back in 2008. Excellent video!

Currently struggling to platinum it and it's no masterpiece, it's a clunky, frustrating, glitchy mess, do the same thing exactly a hundred times and every time it performs differently, suddenly a wallrun you had no trouble pulling off refuses to work, faith refuses to grab things randomly, she glitches over or through things she never should, dies from tiny falls, slows down for no reason, disarms are practically impossible on armoured enemies making the shard speedrun impossible. Never should have had enemies or combat. Used to love it back in the day but it's trash now.

@@scottneil1187 It’s got issues, but in spite of those problems? It’s still an incredible and unique experience. So whatever shortcomings I experienced; I’m willing to look past them and still appreciate the game as a whole. I’d love to see it remastered one day.

catalyst should have maintained the original art style for game and cutscenes. that alone would be amazing. biggest flaw is the polution that is the hud.

I just wish they would continue the story in some other medium. Like a comic book or something. We really have to get these companies to finish their damn stories. As a fan of the original, while I was excited for Catalyst, I was bummed out that it was a prequel and not a sequel. There were 7 years between the first and 2nd game and now it's been 8 years since the 2nd, so it's pretty obvious we're not getting a 3rd. The least they could do is tie up the story in a comic book lol.

Instead of hoping for another mirror's Edge game you should hope for it to become an entire flourishing genre. Cyberpunk has pretty good Mirror's Edge parkour, only missing wall running and a 180 or 90 turn button.

Unpopular opinion, but i liked MEC a whole lot better than the first game. It made an impact in my life going forward as well as the aesthetics and the ambience just captivated me completely.

Love this game. There have been some games trying to include parkour (dying light..), but none felt so good. It's extremely disappointing that this game didn't change the movement in any other other game. At the time Mirror's edge came out I felt like it's a start of something new. That maybe from now on we will have this kind of movement system in FPS games. Similar disappointment like the playing games with great physics and then seeing new games having almost no real physics implemented.

Try doing the shard speedrun then, combat makes it impossible due to the disarm never working. Should never have had enemies.

If dice is focused on multiplayer games why not? mirror's edge online where you can run around on buildings, in alleys, or on the streets, with friends and strangers, and you can challenge them to races or fights like a better version of the catalyst combat, and maybe a battle Royale but it's more like fall guys instead of Fortnite, and maybe a character customization

Why’d you not talk abt the second one, it’s a massive upgrade from the first, the story is better, the characters are better, the combat is WAYY better and there’s a lot more parkour possibilities and unlocks, stuff like grapple hooks and etc

Catalyst was one of the biggest disappointments in gaming for me. While it wasn't terrible on it's own it felt like a downgrade in almost every real respect to the original. Mirrors edge 1 was lightning in a bottle and an experience im still trying to chase to this day.
