This country is a dumpster fire. Fascists won the elections. The goverment was caught persecuting citizens. The police is underfunded, as is health care, mental health and education. We let the farmers (or rather, their banks) destroy our environment. We allowed foreign investment companies to buy all our houses, to rent them back to us. There are hundreds of thousands of thirty year olds waiting to start a family still living with their parents because houses are unaffordable. It's a shit show down here. Yes, everywhere else is worse. But we're The Netherlands. We're supposed to be better, and we're not. In fact, we haven't been for two decades. One thing that is growing: the lines at the food banks. This is not a utopia.
