I don’t understand the rant. If he has 0% chance of starting at Florida, (and he has the talent to start somewhere else), why are you upset that he is now pursuing that goal? It would be a waste of talent for him to sit on the bench, wouldn’t it? Are you upset because he is now coming to that realization and doesn’t want to be second fiddle. I can’t blame the guy for exploring his option or correcting a mistake.

Ali, with all due respect, if you take the time to watch the Florida Gators football podcast, you’ll find an in-depth review of the team’s offense and defense. It might change your perspective on the offensive scheme Napier runs, which is, quite frankly, abysmal.

It definitely sounds like a cover for NIL, or maybe something else. If he doesn't land somewhere, or if it doesn't stick. that's a confirmation.

I think it is idiotic for any coach, players or fan to say Lagway is the starter already. You always want competition no matter how obvious each player is. Sounds like someone at uf drop the ball with this kid and he left. I mean, what kid would join any school just to automatically be a backup?

Steve Spurrier for OC !!! 😂😂😂 Gators would average scoring 50 pts per game !
@longgrayline8055Күн бұрын
Promising a position to a player can really hurt a program. Remember, Joe Burrow was tired of sitting on the bench at Ohio State because the position had been promised to someone else. Make them compete for the position.
@jg7555Күн бұрын
Stop with the GA think , everything is not Ga. The kid cannot transfer within the SEC so how would UGA benefit from this. How about Napier go out and recruit an actual backup QB with that understanding so there is no issue going forward. Still not sold on Napier anyway. GO GATORS !

IMO the issue is that Napier thinks he’s a great play caller and just about anyone else would be a downgrade. Simply put his ego won’t allow him to hire an OC.

Watching Shortbus Billy pretend to be an OC again should be concerning to the entire Gator Nation.

I think we can win a National Championship with Billy calling the plays. I would never make a comment on our coach's ceiling being 10 wins. Its saying "He can't get the job done" without having the backbone to say it. I believe in our coach and every time I have supported while others doubt, I end up being correct. I will just keep following my own sports opinion.

Our room for error is real small being in the sec Ohio state is still the big ten though they could afford a loss being at Florida we can not undefeated or bust that’s just how it is at fla

The Gators averaged 28 points a game last season - including scorimg 27, 24, 31 and 33 over the last 4 games. IMHO, an offensive coordinator would still be great.

Maybe next year as stated in other comments Lagway,baugh etc have gotten used to Napier's nomenclature Plus the whole team plays for napier thats a fact so adding an OC how would that affect the overall team dedication

I agree that Chip Kelly is an instrumental reason Ohio State is going to play for a Natty. Especially with this run during the playoffs. A total different team .
@synitarthrax56182 күн бұрын
I can see your point about hiring an OC. All of the great programs in recent years had an OC and if you play the game like Saban, you change every few years to breathe new life into the program keeping it from stagnating. At the same time, if your OC blows a few games or doesn't bring the offense to the level you demand, you fire them and hire another. Bama had that kind of power. Does Florida? All of this is common sense CFB. I don't know enough about Napier's mental state to determine if hiring an OC is ego thing or not but as it stands now, players like Baugh and Lagway bought into Napier's scheme and I have to wonder what their level of enthusiasm would be if all of a sudden they were turned over to someone else. I think hiring an OC changes your program on a basic level and when you're rebuilding and creating a culture this has to be taken into consideration before you pull the trigger. I think if Napier was looking for an OC, we would have heard the rumors flying but so far nothing. I doubt we hire one this year. Who knows what the future holds.

Napiers scheme is good, problem is he gets to predicable at times, bad clock management and doesn’t have a good feel of the game at times! He’s great at his first 12-15 scripted plays at the beginning of the game, after that he gets lost!!! Last year Graham wasn’t the perfect QB for his scheme, but I think with a healthy Lagway and the weapons around him, the offense should improve this season?
@waynemurray28052 күн бұрын
Well the Miami DC called him predictable, said he knew what he was going to call the first 10 - 15 plays, and he called every one of them.
@kenbrown74882 күн бұрын

Lagway came to UF because of Napier….and is now accustomed to Napier as the play-caller. I don’t see why you upset that relationship with new nomenclature, etc. I do think we need an on-the-sideline special teams coordinator, though.
@briangardner13612 күн бұрын
A new play caller would learn the current play book. There's over 1000 plays available. It's about calling the right ones
@conureron37922 күн бұрын
@ - if the new OC wants to come to Gainesville, that would be a condition of his hire, but if we have to “beg” someone to come, that condition of employment goes out the window. Top notch OC’s may also want to bring some of their own assistants who know their system.
@k.c.gillespie14522 күн бұрын
I thought I had seen somewhere that hiring an OC was a condition of Napier keeping his job. I could be wrong! The program IMO would have to be more successful with a good OC than without. Billy is wearing too many hats!
@claytonyoung13512 күн бұрын
You didn't see that anywhere. Pretty sure the "conditions of employment "aren't something you are privy to and probably read or heard in the rumor mill.
