The reason I think the opt-outs will be few is the culture. The Gators have players who want to be there because they're a team. Not a group of Portal Mercs. As a team they want to win regardless of the "prestige" and the team they face. Winning is a habit and they want to keep that habit strong while having fun doing it. I mean no disrespect to Tulane but I think the Gators will light them up and have a blast doing it.

I’m just happy we aren’t playing on that horrific Jacksonville field that took out D.J. Gators need to tell them that they won’t play going forward on such a garbage field. Also thinking it should be a home and home. And I agree💯, the 🐊 could very well be playing in the national championship game for the next 2 years. It’s a D.J. thing. He draws the best.

Huge list of names of guys that might leave. For those that already went into the portal, get out a Hefty, throw their stuff in it and toss it on the sidewalk. The team has a game to prep for and they don't want to be on the team, so get them out of the building. They will be a distraction and a demoralizing factor. Either there is no more loyalty and affection for one's school, which will be the death of this sport, or this staff inspires such little confidence that players feel they need to leave. I'll go on record - go for loyalty and at least preserve that aspect, even if it means L's. The mercenary approach might produce wins, but it won't be Florida Football. It'll just be dudes wearing a uniform. My alma mater is more than that to me and I'll support things if there's a common bond and common affection for UF. Unfortunately, the Gators team that won the last 3 games will be totally different next year! Looks like the defense is going to take a huge hit. Hard to imagine the Gators getting players from the portal who are just as good! Btw, so much for all the great culture talk that was built! That means absolutely nothing in the age of NIL and the portal. Players want $$$ not “culture”!
