Kingsmen 16 - Cpt Tom - July 1969 to Feb 1971. I hadn't thought about Vietnam for years until coming across this website. Watching the video brought back long forgotten memories. Thank you Joe for doing this.

I was in Qui Nhon about three months working at the 67 th evac. hospital. The rest of my tour I was at a small dispensary in Phu Tai about ten miles or so up the road.

I work with a Vietnam veteran, his stories are amazing, and he's such a great dude. Can't thank him and all who serve our great country enough. 🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲 Infinite thanks and respect to all veterans

Ghostrider Don Here; "Wild Bill" Meacham killed our company barber leading sappers to the pilot sleeping area during Tet 1968 at the Plantation Army air field. Many pilots of the 195th AHC and the 17th AHC owe their lives to him. A true American legend. Thanks Bill.

Cordiali saluti.

When I was there in 70-71, we weren't fighting the Viet Cong, we were fighting well-equipped North Vietnamese Regular Army (NVA).

Welcome home! I was at Camp Eagle, Evans, and Carroll in the 101st. Got home in July '71.
It was such a terribly sad time 😢🇺🇸, but our Fighting Men DID THEIR JOBS, even when their hands were tied by bureaucratic nonsense. God bless everyone who served.......I was planning to go as a field RN, but God’s plan was larger and better than mine.....The War Ended. So I chose becoming an ER/TRAUMA RN for the duration of my career. There were no guys and gals like THOSE guys and gals....ALL HEART AND SOUL. Praise God for people like them. May you open your hearts, minds and spiritual eyes to Jesus Christ TODAY - He is waiting for you with open arms. 🕊❤️🙏🙋♀️🌹🌹🌹💜✝️✡️🇺🇸

Joe, thanks for posting this. I was with the 79th Trans Co. from Feb 69 to Jan 70. You guys were our sister company. I had a 2' x 3' Peace Collage (the collage was from Stars and Stripes pictures with a typed (from S & S articles) peace sign in the middle. I had it in my hooch for over 6 months when our 1st Sgt came through and told me to get rid of it now. I asked him if I could send it home and he said he wanted it out of the company area now. I took it over to the 540th and asked the guys to hide it until I could send it home. They ended up displaying it, our 1st shirt found out and went over and tore it up. I still have pics of the torn up collage.

Hey Don, we just missed each other. I got to the 540th in Feb. 1970.
My dad was in Qui Nhon, he doesn’t talk about Vietnam, (I believe he was there between 69-71) I believe he was helicopter recovery. I guess I’m trying to figure out his past. I know it still haunts him and I wouldn’t never use it against, I just want to be there if he needs it. Welcome home and thank you for your service.

I was with the 540th from Feb 70 to Aug 70. I tried to get into the recovery section so I could fly, but the waiting list was long, so I put in for a transfer to the 101st and went to a unit where I was on flight status.
