Humans don't "burn" fat or calories. #1 know your goal. Warm-up is not just cardio. You want to include joint specific work also. You over complicate the squat, and don't curl the toes up. How is one to pinch the skin on their back when deadlifting? Totally agree about the plank. Why is everyone so plank crazy? The best thing for fat loss it strength/cardio.

Dan I have Spondilolisthesis at L4-L5 with synovial cysts on both sides. My MAT therapist connected me with your videos and has shown me many of your exercises. I’ve been doing your Spondy exercises and eldoas. I have left side glute radiating pain and cannot do anything super high intensity. What are your suggestions for exercising And do you think I can correct it, resolving the cysts.
@DanHellmanАй бұрын
Shelley - The ELDOA will give space to the L4-L5 space. A cyst is due to friction at that area. Do you know exactly where the cysts are? The only thing we can do non-surgical about the cyst is to give freedom to the tissues that are surrounding it. That is usually done with specific myofascial stretching or global postural stretching.

@DanHellmanАй бұрын
@@benadams1826 farmers carries are a great exercise if applied properly. Just depends on the reason you are doing it.
@benadams1826Ай бұрын
@@DanHellman I'm thinking it's an all encompassing functional exercise that would help build strength in many parts of the body (grip, core, stabilizer muscles, entire vertical chain) as well as balance, endurance, and even cardio. Go heavy if going for pure strength, lighter if just starting or working on other things such as endurance or balance. Seems like ONE exercise to simplify everything. I can't keep up with all the different variants of exercises for this and that nor do I have the time and most people are probably the same. Need efficient, simple to remember, simple to do things as the base for everything so I settled on pushups, air squats, wall sits, dead hangs, farmers walks and a few others.
@DanHellmanАй бұрын

Great video, this inchworm is new to me and it's great, horse stance is very misleading. Horse stance is a martial arts stance. I do that a lot. I call your exercise a crawling or quadruped plank. Actually because I crawl like that, I don't really call it anything but it's part of my crawling routine. Don't want to be picky or know better I was just confused until I saw the final position. The same cues work for the standing horse stance.
