They are killing the hobby. I do not buy excuses like they do not know cursive, etc. It comes down to lack of respect for fans. guarantee Peter Rose and Babe Ruth signed way more autographs then these guys. best way to fix this, do not pay or ask for their autograph, eventually they will get the hint

The whole concept of 1 of 1 makes no sense, because the companies are pumping out 1000’s of 1:1’s of each person, year after year… A true one of one would be 1 card in existence, that meet the parameters…ie, a signed/relic card… But each little piece is made into thousands and thousands… This is junk wax era all over, garbage…all of it, anything being produced…the 1 of 1, 1 of 5, etc…its meaningless because they just keep making more and more every year…

I bought the 2 seater for golf only and I could not believe it was as cheap as it was. I have had it a month and Love Love Love it. I did not trade my ezgo cart. My Son uses it now. I have to drive a mile on the road to get to the clubhouse and 25 mph is awesome. I’m 65 and while on the course I keep it in low gear to save battery. You can charge it every night if you want or wait until it gets to 50 % or lower. I shopped for about 8 months and stumbled on this because I was looking for plain white with black trim. I am very pleased. Golf Cars of Houston is where I got mine and a friend bought one just like it from them yesterday.

Mine golf cart is just about 82 inches, and it skims the rubber flap at the bottom of the garage door when the door is in the up position when we go in and out of the garage. Sounds like your door is the same height as mine - probably a standard height door. It is important to note that the front of the cart is about six inches lower that the back of the cart due to the slope and size of the cart's roof canopy.

Speaking of garage doors. What is the height that I will need to get this to fit into my garage?
@altitudecapitalist5063
@altitudecapitalist5063 Жыл бұрын
The trim around my door makes the opening 6' 11.25 inches high, and the roof of my cart skims this thin rubber strip on the way out, but not the way in, so it is really close - may have to do with the slope of my driveway. Standard garage doors height openings are 7 feet high. This would have a full inch of clearance if my garage didn't have that extra trim at the top. Basically, it looks like the standard configuration of these is designed to make it under a standard 7 foot garage door by an inch.

We used this multiple times per week throughout the summer and into the fall. I had to make adjustments to the seat belts because they were not installed properly. The case that holds the retracted belt was installed parallel to the ground, but it needs to be installed at an upward 45 degree angle, or else the belt will crimp and get stuck inside the case when pulled out and over your waist. Easy fix. A few items got a little bit loose and required tightening, such as the assembly along the steering wheel shaft that houses the turn signal. The clip that holds the microphone broke within the first few weeks, but that is not a big deal. Keep in mind these are minor things overall. I like it a lot and would purchase again. One improvement I would like to see is a more high tech touch screen similar to what you see in Teslas. Maybe something for the next gen carts.

With all respect. The verbiage and the words you use, you seem to be coming from an investor standpoint. Which is your perspective. I’ve been collecting since the early eighties. And vintage isn’t going away. The absolutism in descriptions of your opinion on these cards are solely based on what you call “demographic trends”. A lower interest in sports cards? There are sports card shows all the time where I am at. It seems to me your out of touch. When was the last time you went to your LCS? Or a sports cards show. It’s alive and well. Trust me. Don’t quit your day job. Just remember there are 3 types of card collectors. And not all are like you and nor do they share your opinions. But thanks for your thoughts.

Good day, sir. I appreciate your take. A few questions: 1. I have read that many of the top iconic cards have outperformed the stock market over the past 70 years, which includes many players whom no one ever watched (Cobb, Joe Jackson, Ruth, Gehrig, Cy Young, Wagner etc). Are u saying that cycle is over now? Or, in the near future? Aren't these same Iconic cards (1915 Cracker Jack Shoeless Joe, 1933 Goudey Ruth, 1948 Leaf Jackie, 1952 Topps Mantle, etc) to be viewed as historial artifacts/antiques at this point? While i know the hobby has cycles of ups and downs, I don't see why such a dynamic would be "over", for the hobby is quite developed with a pretty strong infrastucture and track record. Do u really see the cards i mentioned as peaked in value? I know you said post-war vintage, but do u think this will apply to, say, Clemente? Man, Puerto Ricans worship that dude, and those young kids love baseball. Jackie? Isn't he an American Icon? I dont see his cultural significance waning. Dimaggio? I see him and Marilyn in Pizzerias everywhere. And, then there's the '52 Mantle with its 70 year track record. Aren't these icons cemented in American folk lore?
@altitudecapitalist5063
@altitudecapitalist5063 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching and your thoughtful comments! You are right, I specifically said "post war vintage" because I believe there is a difference in the desirability and scarcity between some of the ~100 year old iconic cards that you mention and the vintage cards of the post war era, which I do think have peaked. To answer your question are some of these iconic cards like the Cracker Jack Shoeless Joe, Young, Ruth, etc to be viewed like pieces of art - I say mostly yes. Where as a piece of art is one of a kind, and there are numerous exemplars of each of these cards, I think a lot of people look at these in a similar way to how they look at fine art and I find no fault with that personally. I kind of feel the same way. Regarding Clemente - I don't think there is enough of a collector base in Puerto Rico to impact demand of that player, or much of anything in the hobby, in a meaningful way. Of the post-war vintage, I think the two that you mention - Mantle and Jackie - have the best shot of holding up. I actually believe that there is more upside for Jackie - hear me out. Robinson is actually taught in schools because of his role in breaking the color barrier. In 20 years I bet more teens (regardless of whether or not they are collectors) will know who Jackie Robinson is compared to Mantle. I think we are nearing "Peak Mantle" right now because of age demographics. Personally, I would rather have the Mantle than the Jackie. But I am confident that post-war vintage card values will continue to trend down with no floor in sight.

@@altitudecapitalist5063 Thank u so much for your thoughful reply! To be more specific, I think a more apt analogy would be look at Iconic Art of vintage cards as Art Prints and not art originals (u can probably correlate a super rare PSA 10 1952 Mantle or 1948 George Mikan to an original paining, but low grades as art prints, for example). I appreciate your Mantle and Jackie takes. I know that you're not offering financial advice here, but what vintage do u personally believe in as a safe hold? Rare, high grade, pre-war? And, what vintage do u merely collect? This might be a good idea for a video, if u haven't done it, yet.

@altitudecapitalist5063

I noticed that it too. It dies not react like a car, or a gas powered cart at the golf course, that lets you "slam on the breaks." It is a slower breaking time. Not sure if it has something to do with its breaking system that automatically breaks the vehicle when you are not putting your foot on the gas. It also is automatically in parking break mode when you stop the cart - there is no parking break that the driver applies. But the slower breaking time it is definitely something that I noticed.

I agree with your sentiment on vintage and nostalgia and how it correlates to a potential downtrend going forward. One thing that will help you with your value analysis is another trend: people put a premium on graded cards that are centered vs the same grade that is not centered. For instance, the Bob Gibson example. That was an off-centered Bob Gibson in the original video. This means if you see any Gibson RC that is centered better (same grade), but is fetching the same as it was off-centered in Jan, trend is pointing down.
@altitudecapitalist5063
@altitudecapitalist5063 Жыл бұрын
That makes a lot of sense to me. Just looking at two PSA 8s in slabs side by side, you may not be able to tell if one has better or worse attributes that gave them the 8s, but if one is better centered it's an immediate eye catching thing.

Well that's pretty telling. I saw that video is out and didn't have time to watch it yet because of kids sports, but I plan on it. The videos are a bit long, with too much B-roll, but they are trying to make it into a real TV/Netflix show (it won't happen), so I get it.
