Where are those flow meters sold in europe? I am looking for a small one compatible with a blichmann riptide pump
@cheeky.peak.brewery9 ай бұрын
Hi! We have these supplied directly to us in Australia. I am not aware of a European place that supplies them. We do send internationally if you wanted to email us for a quote [email protected]

I like the idea of this. Do you have a lid as well for when boiling?
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
We do! New boiling lids are arriving shortly which will allow you to attach on a steam condenser… or you will be able to utilise that lid to attach on a distilling column 👍

I’ve always been too concerned about oxygenation in the mash idk why, is it really something to worry about?
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
It’s not something in our experience that we’ve ever had issues with .. there’s always a lot of debate about this so you will hear a lot of opinions. In the case of this mash recirculation process, it is a gentle recirculation process that won’t generate a lot of hot side aeration
@bigjimmitchell Жыл бұрын
too many steps... i think you need to make a manifold and somehow add rakes to the mash tun
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching 🍻 Yep rake options are coming early next year to add to mash tun! 😀 We have thought about integrating an optional manifold system also so watch this space.

Does this unit use a single heating element? What power or wattage is this element rated at? How long does it take to heat up or boil 150L in this unit? Thanks
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
Brewers will have an option between a single 5750W or 4500W element. With a 5750W element you would be looking at about 60 minutes to get up to mash temp from cold water. To go from mashing to boiling about 45 mins 🍻🍻

For a brewing system in this small volume size a hatched opening is really quite ridiculous. If you can get access to the vessel from above that is the simplest way to clean or remove trub etc.
@petergibson7287 Жыл бұрын
Yeah but it’s awesome. It’s only ridiculous in the same way as expensive golf clubs or fishing rods or bicycles or whatever one fancies. Otherwise it’s just beautiful functionality or functional beauty. Just like expensive bicycles, golf clubs and fishing rods.
@PetraKann Жыл бұрын
@@petergibson7287 I can see users not using the hatch. Who would use a shovel to take out trub from a vessel so small?
@petergibson7287 Жыл бұрын
@@PetraKann You didn't absorb anything that i wrote. Anyway, that hatch is to remove grain, not trub, and even in the 80 litre mash tun, the spent grain could be almost 30 kg, and considering it's spent, it could weigh as much as 60 kg, so scooping it out through that door is a great idea. I'm very disappointed that I must explain this all to you.
@PetraKann Жыл бұрын
@@petergibson7287 That's even worse my friend. You cant remove the grain from the top? Ridiculous feature for a vessel this small. Purely gimmicky
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
To be honest we initially weren’t planning to go down this small until we started to get demand for this size once we announced the grain door design was coming. We anticipated only customers would want 125 and above but we were wrong. Although it does seem a small volume, it does small the logistics of scraping out the grain makes it a lot easier, especially with brewers positioning these mash tuns onto tables which further increases the height to get into the mash tun from the top. We totally understand your point though as it was our initially thought when designing that the 80L would be a bit gimmicky. But the market demand proved us wrong haha

Its an interesting concept and a lot more compact, how would you handle temp control during fermentation?
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
Temperature control can be handled in multiple ways depending on your preferred process. The BrewFerm does have an optional lid that can be added to the BrewFerm which then fits a coil for inline glycol temp control. Other more popular option is to move the BrewFerm into a dedicated temp controlled fridge to manage all your fermentation temp control 👍

This innovation has introduced closed chilling. With all the sanitation in the world, chilling always felt like a risk to wild yeasts and I don't like the no chill method.
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
Definitely an important process that the BrewFerm has opened up to brewers 🍻 It’s the biggest advantage of integrating an in-line style filter into the chilling process too. The chilling lid upgrade option will also allow for this closed chilling method too 🍻🍻

What is the purpose of having oxygen free in yeast when we know that yeast need oxygen to multiply? Absolutly useless for yeast. BUT! For doing 'dry" hopping, this technique is very interesting.
@cheeky.peak.brewery Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! When you’re harvesting your yeast, it’s at the end of fermentation when you don’t want any introduction of oxygen. This design allows you to harvest the yeast without letting oxygen up into the fermenter. Hope that makes sense
