I was born and raised in Newark, and I'm familiar with some of those rappers, not so for those of this generation, but you forgot to mention the rest of the Flavor Unit, YZ, Sugar Ray of the Double X Posse and Hassan and 7/11.

I love Mach and am a big fan, but there is too much hyperbolic language and glazing here for me. Like it makes it hard to take seriously

Rawkus Records put out some of my favorite music ever. "Funcrusher Plus", "Little Johnny. . .", "Soundbombing" 1 and 2 and "Lyricist Lounge, Volume 1". I really miss that era.

More music than 2Pac??? Bro, you CANNOT possibly be serious lol. Great vid overall but please go check how much music Pac has recorded in his life + how much was still unreleased when he passed. It's night and day, not even REMOTELY close, but that "prone to hyperboly" admission somewhat explains it haha:)

I didn't know who cities is but I came across one of the songs form this album and loved it but still never pursued the artist. Today I just randomly thought hey that guy has a unique sound lets check him out and oh my god I cancelled all my plans and decided to listen to his entire catalogue in one day!

Ngl man, Jonah hills movie mid 90s got me into pharcyde. I heard I’m That Type Of N**** and I was hooked. Listened to the album for the first time and loved it. I wish groups like Pharcyde, Tribe, Hiero, SoM had more shine, so I would’ve been aware of them earlier. Soul Flower is also my personal favorite, just has so much personality and an invasive vibe. I can’t help but dance when I hear the beat, that’s probably why they went with it.

T'nah Apex (now just T'nah) is highly underrated as an MC and could have made waves along side Jean Grae, Rapsody, NoName, Ill Camille, etc. if they teamed up. She does pop up and still works with CJ Fly on projects.

Biggest waste of talent in hip hop history. There were literally years where he had us waiting for a song. Written Testimony has not aged well for me. Hov being all over his debut kinda ruined it. I don't think it has aged well and just was nowhere near his stuff in the early to mid 2000s. His talent unquestionable though.
