Hi Mark, thanks for sharing. I've had students from all ages and in my experience, the struggle is real for everyone. Learning the basics for Spanish pronunciation is key. Keep working on your process and I hope the videos I'm making can help. Take care. 💪

Aprendan los siete conjugaciones mas comunes y entonces sigan a aprender los malditos subjuntivos que no tienen ningun sentido en la mayoria de las lenguas. Buena suerte en sus viajes.
@carlospanishАй бұрын
¡Hola! Para pasar de intermedio a avanzado es necesario aprender el subjuntivo. Toma tiempo y trabajo pero es posible. Hay que dar un paso a la vez. Poco a poco haré videos de subjuntivo para los estudiantes de nivel intermedio. ¡Sigue adelante! 💪

That's for the great advice, but thing I noticed the people write spanish and speak it are two completely different things, its hard to understand.but I guest with time it's better
@carlospanishАй бұрын
Thanks for watching and for the comment. You're right, written Spanish is different to Spoken Spanish. Single words are pretty easy to pronounce and to understand, but connecting words makes it more difficult. That is called Connected speech. I recommend checking it out. 👍

Is that any different than English?

Muchas gracias por los excelentes consejos, Carlos. Tengo 50 años y llevo 2.5 años estudiando español. Por eso, me apreciaron tus comentarios sobre los estudiantes adultos. Encontré un tutor colombiano, fantástico y muy paciente, de Barranquilla. He aprendido mucho con él. Por mi cuenta, he empezado a practicar la escritura. A decir verdad, eso requiere mucho esfuerzo (igual que el proceso en inglés). Además, utilizo la IA como solo un coach para analizar mis párrafos, y me ayuda mucho en mis conversaciones, donde puedo dar opiniones más detalladas. Aún meto la pata, pero siento que estoy mejorando poco a poco. Sigue así con tus videos, son una gran inspiración. Que tengas una bonita semana.

You say the vowels are always pronounced the same but what about the two e's in "cerveza" ? The second "e" sounds like the long "a" in English and also in the word "idea". So it seems that in some words the "e" is pronounced like a long "a" in English. Correct?
@carlospanishАй бұрын
Hi, thanks for asking. The phonetic transcription for the Spanish word cerveza is /θeɾˈbeθa/ in Spain and /seɾˈbesa/ in Latin America. Both "e's" have exactly the same sound. The long English "a" is not exactly the same Spanish "e". The same thing happens with the word "idea", the "e" is pronounced like the Spanish "e". I hope this helps. 😉

Hi, I’m native dutch. I live in Belgium and I speak also French and a little bit English. Meanwhile I’m studying Spanish already for 3 years. I use Duolingo, I have (once a week) a private teacher (web), I follow netflix in Spanish, TikTok teachers, KZbin channels … my phone is in Spanish and after 3 years not yet “fluent”. It takes 2000 hours to learn a “easy” language (suchs as, english, french, dutch, german, spanish, portugese, …). If you study one full hour a day (=300 hours a year) you will nead 6 years te speak level C1 (almost fluent). There are no shortcuts. Asi que, les deseo a todos los alumnos “buena suerte”. … tienen que practicar, enforsarse … cada dia.

Thanks for sharing! I've found dutch people tl be quite good at languages. I looks like you're on the right path. Keep working on it. I'll start posting intermediate and advanced videos as well. I hope my KZbin channel will help in your learning process. Good luck! 💪

Reading spanish is easy, they don't have a lot of exceptions. Learn the alphabet and you just about have it.
