coming from cycling sports my quads are over proportional bigger than glutes or lower leg muscles - and running with high vertical ratio puts a lot of force on my feet - ty for the video

I really appreciated the info you guys provided in this episode. Totally spot on! As an older, recreational runner w/out $$ to spend, I need to rely on myself to develop a decent training plan that I can use. Self-coaching is a tool that many athletes use but I wonder how many really spend the time to educate themselves. The key for me is to spend a fair chunk of time researching and studying important components of training and figuring out how to apply the learning to my situation. If athletes decide to hire a running or strength coach, I highly recommend they listen to this episode. I believe that Higher Running is a very trustworthy and accomplished online coaching business :-))

Pretty sure I've heard those same stories and (I hope!!) everyone watching this video knows exactly who doesn't disclose how many athletes they coach, doesn't do phone calls, uses cookie cutter plans and a Google spreadsheet where you get the occasional 'woohoo' and 'huzzah' type comment while paying a pretty penny for "individual coaching" every month 🦕🤐 appreciate you two for being decent people 💪

Well. I do everything wrong apparently. My old sergeant said when I run I look like wolverine charging the admin office to find out why my leave was cancelled. Definitely not like someone gliding like a gazelle.

As a runner who also maintained a little body building muscle(I think the balance saved me from over running or muscle joint wear) I could always feel "extra energy drain" if in my arms. Yes, arm swing can help the run but it is all a function of speed and distance. I keep arm hands as low as possible, unless I need that "sprinting blades". The shoulder and arms can still swing without the hands up and biceps locked.

I want to give my appropriate thanks to this plan and to Sandi/Sage. I followed it and made my BQ initially -3.44 (Bowling Green) and then at Carmel (April, 24) greater than 12 mins under. So, it took me a while to be fit enough to follow the plan, but it got me there. I am grateful (and happy)!

I was doing my first ACTUAL programmed running workout, and as soon as I learned the forward lean in the middle of my workout, my pace went from 8 to 10 miles an hour instantly, and I had to tone it back down.

What do you guys/gals do when your knee gets very painful from jogging? I am 3 weeks into trying to get into jogging and my left knee kills me and is terrible when walking up stairs. The jogging has caused this. Any tricks to help this stop, makes the next day training miserable to suffer thru.

I don’t think it’s possible to land on your toes, and how can you land on the middle of your foot? There’s an arch there. And… if your form is so great, why are you both wearing those orthotics on your feet?

Not only is it better form to lean forward a little while running but it looks much cooler. The straight up posture while running looks incredibly dorky.
