THANK YOU! Last week you saved us from not being able to deliver several large urgent jobs to some of our clients. If we slowly moved the laser head everything was fine, but as soon as it picked up some speed it would throw the error. Annoyingly, we had this same issue a few years ago and the Trotec tech told us that we had to replace the whole motor. Really wishing we knew this trick way back then.

The laminator you show in video looks different than the one you linked to in Amazon?

Imagine working at an indoor pool for 8 hours a day especially just after they dose it vs a fully vented laser cutter on a small sticker , you need a vented system imo , every bit of smoke from a laser is harmful to an extent.

Cutting mdf regularly is a sure way to ruin your laser cutter and filters. It will leave a sticky mess everywhere and you’ll be left with a terrible smell that won’t go away. Do not work with mdf unless you’re in a dedicated shop space and are willing to clean the machine and filters about 5 times as much as normal.

Aren’t MDF fumes super-toxic (due to glues burning)?

So using the laser to cut the vinyl leaves the edges pliable and gummy, which is probably why it sticks to the transfer sheet. Would it help to let the vinyl cool before applying the transfer sheet? Also, does the laser leave any burn marks on the vinyl like it does on wood or paper? Thanks.

why does nobody show you how to get the shape you want for your jig. I have pre made leather key rings. how do I get those shapes on a jig?

Great video! It included all the salient details for DIY enthusiasts with access to some serious technology at the same time providing guidance for those of us with a coping saw, a sanding block and access to a local Dollar store. Well done!

Does this mask work ok on MDF with veneers? No issues with it removing the veneer since it’s high tack?

Oh my gosh. Thank you so much for this. I have been looking all over for masking tape that will work. I have an xTool S1. Do you have to increase power or speed to break through the masking tape? I’m wanting to paint engraved wood and acrylic.

The Way to prevent bleed is Mask, Engrave, spray with shellac (this seals the area to be painted and shellac is the only thing compatible with Oil based and water based paint), Paint and unmask

My first laser project making a sign for a restaurant was with MDF. Its my go to flat "wood" product now. Your comments are right on and very useful. I subscribed and will look for more practical tips presented in a clear non-theatrical manner. A lot of KZbin presentations are too much fluff and too little practical useful fact. keep up the good work. Thanks.

1. Engrave then spray with clear coat (2 light cost) then spray or paint as you please. 2. use a heat gun i.s.o. your laser to melt the embossing or powder coat to get an even look. I never done this but common sense prevail.

ive used EZcad for over 6 years no problems on 50 watt fibre, depending on your substrate you can get some really nice defined finishing using crosshatch and alternate it 0 , 90 and 45 135 degrees

There is a video showing a process to make Aluminum tags with painted covering etched with the laser and then etched with Ferric Chloride. And then clean off the paint and with powder coating and a heat gun treated then polished. Makes great tags

You made an excellent experiment and all I read is comments of people who think "they knew better than you"... it is not what they say to you, it is the way they say it. I thank you for sharing this experiment, it is truly interesting, and though there may be even "better" solutions to the bleeding problem, I learned a lot from you. and hoping to see more from you and trying more methods, I will try them myself as well!

Interesting video. Hardboard is like MDF. It is used for flooring. A 4' x 8' sheet, 1/8" is usually under $14.00 at Lowes. It's basically MDF, but a little harder.

I believe that mystery piece is a screw clamp to keep the galvo unit locked in its vertical position so no one can come and inadvertently raise or lower it. At least, that's what I saw in other vids.
