I wish my family members would take some initiative to learn about Ms without me having to teach them and repeat it every time I see them. They don't understand how exhausting it is to have to repeat the same thing over and over and over. I come from a big family and my siblings say they want to learn and then they don't. About a month ago I needed help with some stuff so I asked one of my older sisters for help, and she told me that I need to be nice if I want help. I had been staying away from some of the family gatherings because there's so many people and so much going on that my anxiety from MS would totally shine through and cause pseudo symptoms to show themselves. And my treatment also reduces my white blood cell count so the possibility of me catching a sickness is really high. She was upset that I didn't show up at the family gathering. And because of that apparently people don't want to help because I'm not more involved like I used to be. I love my family, but I don't think they really want to understand what's wrong and the things that I go through on a daily basis when it comes to ms.

Hello! Could you please tell if rrms always turns into spms? Is it possible to prevent it, doing something additionally to drugs? Or diets and exercises don’t really help ?
@DrBrandonBeaber23 сағат бұрын
RRMS does not invariably turn into SPMS. Some people never develop progressive MS. There is evidence that nutrition may play a role in the treatment of MS. You may appreciate this playlist on nutrition and MS: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZbcZqCrjK91qZI

I follow the OMS diet. I started about a month ago. I find it worked well for me. I avoid coconut though. And whole grain bread is not my friend.

Considering how few participants there were, isn't 4-6 getting worse in the treatment arm and one in the placebo arm significant? Could it be harmful to some percentage of the population?

My doctor prescribed Ocrevus for my MS. I have PPMS. However, I have heard nothing, but awful side effects and nothing about benefits. So, I said "yeah, get back to you on that".

Hi Dr. B Thanks for this great video! I learn every time you post new videos every Wednesday. I got my second Ocrevus infusion last Wednesday, and my neurologist was amazed that six months ago when I got diagnosed my EDSS was 3, and now it is 1. I thank my good diet, my PT and determination to never give up. Question: Is it common to lower EDSS in six months? Regards. Ahmet

Had Optic Neuritis in 2008, was finally DX'ed in 2023 with MS after a major flare in my spine at C1-C2 gave me this intractable spasticity. Was given Clemastine (because I begged for it) in August 2023. Took 6 weeks worth and noticed a noticeable change in the center field of vision in the affected eye. Completed my 2nd year of discontinuous DMT with Mavenclad last month. Started up with Clemastine again at the beginning of this month. It's important to mention that I have had an eye exam after the first round and the correction in my left eye had to be reduced. If cog fog doesn't get me, I'll work to remember to come back here and tell you all what my anecdotal experience is/was.

I would love to give this a whirl coz Tysabri has let be down: suspected neutralising antibodies - think I’m gonna have to swap to maybe Kesimpta (self injection doesn’t bother me but a 6 hour infusion of ocrevus definitely would!) gotta hopefully see my neuro very soon: still waiting on my invitation! Sigh… 😮💨 praying for all ms warriors out there! 🙏🏻

On Kesimpta for 2-1/2 years since diagnosis and doing very well. Thank God for that. I love the flexibility of the pen and doing at home! I try to keep stress low low. Yoga, gardening, walking and strength trainer all help! Best to you

Thank you Dr. Beaber. Idea for next video: JC virus and rituximab for ms. How to monitor it at home?
@DrBrandonBeaber3 күн бұрын
There are very rare reports of PML (the infection caused by the JC virus) with b cell depleting drugs such as rituximab. It can cause progressive neurological symptoms such as memory changes, numbness, weakness, and vision loss. The risk in rheumatoid arthritis trials with rituximab is reported to be around 1 in 25,000
