Will there be a possibility of new Lineage in the future? Something like the Half-Damned, those who curse are less potent, only half of their dice pool can be Cursed, but they Cruel Failure only happen if they roll 1 on their Curse dices. They often hunt other Accursed in hope of making the world less curse. But also because hunting other Accursed help them from acting on their Family Vice. These all sound really interesting, the Hyde and Primal families especially. When you were describing the Hyde family, the first character that came to mind wasn't the Hulk, even though he is the most obvious example of a Hyde like character, except for Dr Jackal and Mr Hyde himself I guess. It was actually Slaine Mac Roth (or I guess Cú Chulainn to, since he was the celtic hero that inspired the creation of Slaine) and his warp spasm/riastrad form.

As someone that does like the more animal focus on shapeshifters, will there be options to alter and mould the Wild Form to be more like a natural creature just, bigger? I for one love the idea of shapeshifting into just a big giant wolf as a Get of Lyka for example, even if there are some elemental trappings and whether it’s now or in the future I certainly would love something like that. Some customizability in how we get to look. After all, if the idea is for allowing options, the Get of Lyka alone are already there in letting you bear features of foxes and dogs, not just wolves. I have just started to get back into the Wolf Among Us and maybe even the Fables comics. He can achieve several different shapes, such as just The Big Bad Wolf where he is a giant beast of a wolf. That is the kind of flexibility I would like for the Primals, and come to think of it that character would be great inspiration for my own future characters I might make in Curseborne. If there is a Spell that solves this concern I’ll even take that to be honest. I hope that does not come off as complaining, but these are my thoughts currently. 🙂

As a celt i find the hart wardens replacing the fianna disdainful in a way i find hard to pin down even if the name had been kept. As a norse neo pagan the get thing irritates me as well. My idea would be to make the game more 'woke' by having the youth faction taking the role of warlike garou with the corrupt elders as the "guard the caern" "small victory" types. More "how to blow up a pipline." and less "not all corporations are bad".

Hey there Matthew, I have to say that your most recent videos on Curseborne have been great - I'm thoroughly intrigued, and as someone who was somewhat let down by the... shall we say, occasionally flimsy or 'blank-spot' mechanics of VTM, it's great to see a similar horror-inspired RPG being made by veteran players of similar schemas. It's certainly something I'll be looking to pick up, but I would just like to ask you, as a cash-strapped starving artist and thespian, what the expectations will be in terms of the amount expected upon backing in order to acquire a copy? I can tell that a lot of work has gone in to it, and having forked out for rulebooks before, by no means to I expect it to be a sum of pocket change, but I'd just be interested to know how much of my pocket money I'll have to save up to get my hands on it. Excellent as always, and hungry for more!

@Daemonworks23 сағат бұрын
The WoD changeling (C:tD) did tend to lean that way, especially the earliest version with the random bunks and the characters being all kids. If you wanted a game with a more serious tone you basically had to force it and it felt clunky to fight the system's expectations to do it. The CoD changeling (C:tL) on the other hand, radically different beast, borrowing more from horror retellings than the disney side of fairy tales. The default background is "you were enslaved by a mad god, transformed to suit their purposes, and (more or less) escaped back to the real world, to find that nobody misses you because a copy of you has stolen your life. also, your slaver wants you back." Out of the box it makes vampire look light and fluffy.
@chasel.97044 сағат бұрын
Curseborn definitely has my interest, but if you’re curious as to how Onyx Path could handle Changelings and make them a horror game, I *strongly* recommend Changeling - the Lost. Either edition, though be warned 1e tends to lean more heavily into themes of surviving an extremely abusive relationship. It’s certainly there in 2e, but 2e has more of an empowering “we got out and we’ll do it again” edge to it. Anyway, give it a look. There’s some beautiful madness in it.

@@jkl1110 What were your issues with it?
@jkl1110Күн бұрын
@@TheGentlemanGamer When I tried it, I had only played the older aberrant. So a small part of it is I preferred the control over my dice pool I had. Like splitting my dicepool for multiple things and such. So the singular pool that doesn't really change so much as gets bumped up or down was a adjustment. While I was fine with systems that let u narrate more in regards with something like say......a gun. You get things that mention using multiple shots and things but you just make 1 roll and say it happens like ur abilities describe. For me, the speed at which things can run was not a good sub for the control over the character. In aberrant I played a character that didn't have to deal with those issues AS much (i just built Q-tech for whatever situation) but I saw a lot of it and played it when i jaeger'd some characters when they couldn't show and it was a heavy drag for them and me. It just felt like "i am a so good at a gun i can fight supers with hails of gunfire", then u roll 1 pew and ur turn ends (there may have been something that could give another action but it was for minor other stuff which is good for mobility options but it felt underwhelming for the bit they wanted to do. It seems like how they are doing tricks and buying them after u resolve a success seems to fix my main issue of feel. That feeling being that If i specialize in a thing being good enough to pull off more should feel present and not JUST narrative
