You've explained this far better than anyone else has to me, 10 years a carpenter doing renovations, I was only told to look for the fibres. So much doubt over the years
@alexderpyracc4053 Жыл бұрын
The boss at my work in 2017 though it was a good idea to break these off the ceiling because it had "concrete in it to weigh down the fiber" and now basically i probably have 50 years to live maximum 60 because of it
@vinlondon89042 ай бұрын
How many years do you intend to live? 200? 😅
@yasser_music Жыл бұрын
why you put theme in water ?
@phleschbubble2 ай бұрын
I believe because it makes it safer to handle. The fibers are much less likely to become airborne if they are wet. Especially if you are breaking it, as he has done.

What are the hair like fibres in villaboards ? I have a plasterboard type partition with white hair like fibres it’s from 1930s I was worried it was asbestos.

If you have asbestos in the house just get suited and masked up and quietly remove it . Don’t buy into the drama of paying so called experts to remove it because they use it as an excuse to charge an arm and a leg plus take your left testicle for it . They use scare tactics to extract hard earns cash from you . It’s nothing to be worried about and perfectly easy to remove it without any negative effects .

You need to go back to school and learn about asbestos
@savige20123 жыл бұрын
I like the video but this is very very un accurate and misleading. You have the right idea, but the amount of times we have had Villaboard come back from the lab positive is kind of becoming humerous. The company James Hardie, had no idea what to do with their left over stock when all the Asbestos building bans got introduced in Australia, they had MILLIONS of sheets that they would have been forced to send to landfill which would have cost an ungodly amount of money and most likely would have bankrupt the company, but they decided it would be a good idea to chuck a big green stamp on every sheet saying "ASBESTOS FREE" or "MANUFACTURED WITHOUT ASBESTOS". Send any of that to a lab and it will come back positive everytime. Also i know you had it dunked in water but asbestos doesnt hold water, so when you snapped it you went and released a bunch of fibres into the air while trying to tell us the dangers of asbestos. All in all, great video, just needs some proper facts.

Isn’t the relevant consideration whether water droplets hold asbestos fibres rather than whether asbestos fibres absorb water?

That's just an older type of asbestos. There's a few types with out the dimple back.. pink hardiflex is one that looks like modern day fibro on the back
@tomgrant65633 жыл бұрын
I just found some pink hardiflex stuff.... Handling it with caution for now but what do you know about that product?
@savige20123 жыл бұрын
@@tomgrant6563 ill spit straight facts at you bro its my job. We treat hardieflex as one of the safer types of asbestos. Has a VERY small amount, but still contains Asbestos so we treat it the same as any asbestos. You would pretty much have to crush up a line of hardieflex and snort it for it to hurt you. Super 6 roof sheets on the other hand, every step you take on them is a full footprint of fibres that come off with every step. Shit is SUPER dangerous. Always best to get an asbestos removalist in, just for peace of mind, and im only one man but we dont charge to come quote so you might find someone happy to come give you some advice. Hope that helps.

When a piece of calcium silicate board containing asbestos is cut in half, fibers are released during the cutting process. Will there still be fibers running out from the cutting edge after cutting?😥

Great Video on fibro panels. One 3rd test is: because asbestos panels are more solid they have a ring to them when they are dropped onto solid concrete that modern day villaboard does not have. Make sure you can drop both to compare the sound.

Oh. That`s exactly what I need now. Our house has been boult in 1995. So, I was sure it`s completely asbestos free. However today I started bathroom renovation and noticed too hard surface of the wall sheets. And yes they have dimples on the bottom side. Very similar with asbestos. Please, have a look yadi.sk/d/0x_o-AAtXgCeyA Some names and codes are noticed as well. It`s called as a "Villaboard" Type B Cat C. And somethink like Hardie`s on them. Does anybody knows whether this is a real asbestos product and how dangerous it is? Is it harmless to remove it myself or it`s a deal for asbestos removal specialists? Thank you
