If you want a sick JZX you have to put in the work. I started with an LX90.. when only 2-3 people had done LX-JZX conversion before, i figured it out & converted it to 1JZ. I even got the digital dash from an NA JZX wired up & working. Im not a potato though... This is what owning a modified car is like. Also JZX you have to pay to play. @MateoMАй бұрын
Glad you were able to come to this conclusion! I agree with you. If it’s a short trip and the terrain isn’t too steep the taco can definitely do it. But for longer trips, which can have more varying terrain, I would step up to a tundra so I could be more relaxed during the trip. Thank you for watching!

how heavy is your trailer? i have towed on my v6 sr5 with a uhaul trailer and a datsun. want to tow a 370z
@MateoMАй бұрын
I have a spreadsheet at the end of the video showing the weights. I wrote 1900lbs for the trailer but that number should be closer to 2250-2500. Either way, according to what I found the Toyota was towing at nearly 80% of its capacity with a Honda civic. The 370z is heavy and I believe it will do it so long as you aren’t transversing any mountain terrain.

@@genna544it really depends on the roads getting there. If you don’t pass through any serious mountain ranges with high grades Im sure it can handle the journey. It will just be slow. Why buy that specific intake? Silicon piping and air filters are cheap, just fab your own intake, or TF also sells a $200 intake if you want to buy one. Also XAT Racing has rear conversion kits for LS460 or MkIV Supra brakes depending on wheel size. I would absolutely convert the brakes to something that was sold here, because I view that as a one time cost/upgrade. What else is expensive?

@@MateoM how can you put a x100 engine in an x90 chassis? Would you need a link ecu for an x100 and then figure out the pins that are different coming from the x90 harness?
@MateoM8 ай бұрын
The engine will fit exactly where it needs to be so no new mounts or anything. It’s just wiring changes. People in Japan and a few JZX90s here have a vvtis in their 90s running stock ECU. One route I’ve heard but have not done myself is to get if you have a jzx110 1jz, a harness from JZS171 crown, 2j vvti ecu, and find a different plug for the maf wire and it was good to go. I’m sure there’s much more involved but that’s the basic idea. Depending how complex this gets, it may be easier/more time efficient to just get a new engine harness made from scratch from panic wiring and run a standalone and call it good.
